Quick question: when tallying the votes, do you only go by the poll or do you count the posts as well? If the former, none of my votes would have counted as I can't use the poll function with my ancient phone.

It has to be by poll votes only, way too much of a pain to count votes in the thread and try to determine if they voted in the poll or not.  Part of the poll is to make things much easier on the person running something.  Trust me when I say counting things by hand is a major adventure in tedious activities.
