Irony Is A Dead Scene is my favourite thing they've done, although all their material is a hell of a lot better live. When Good Dogs... is just so good, although it is really Patton who makes that track, the instrumentation during the bridge is amazing, really tasteful and atmospheric

Amazing band, every one of their albums is choice work. Apparently their next album is going to be a lot darker than what they have made before.

I've listened to Calculating Infinity several times before, but I never got into it thanks to the vocalist (this is for what I will be flamed on I'm sure). Miss Machine I enjoyed more.

Have you tried listening to Ire Works?

I've thought about it, but this kind of music just doesn't fall into my taste easy.

I'd recommend giving it a listen.  It's their most accessible album and has a bit of a different sound to it.

I'm posting this too.  It's one of Nine Inch Nails' last concerts, when DEP joined them on stage to play Wish.

I have Miss Machine, which is pretty good.

I've sampled the stuff before it and it was far too rough.

I gave a few tracks off Ire Works a listen when it first came out and they sounded pretty good. Haven't gone any further than that though.

This is what I started doing exactly, I felt it was far too rough but I gave it a shot anyway. After several listens through I just couldn't stand it. This music (at least the earlier stuff) is not for me lol.

Dead as History, and Mouth of Ghosts are the best tracks off of Ire Works, they are just perfect.

Saw them at the first Gigantour, didn't like them. Saw a thread about them on the JP boards, download some of their stuff and wasn't a fan. Vocals put me off, I think I'll check them out again today though, I have some time to kill.

God, Irony is a Dead Scene just hit me like a fucking train today. The songs are just so perfect, a awesome blend of straight up hardcore and experimental. When Good Dogs Do Bad Things is slowly becoming my favorite DEP track. The part where Mike starts screaming RUN AWAY RUN AWAY RUN AWAY RUN AWAY, is sooo fucking epic.

Anyone ever listen to their self-titled EP?  I was surprised how good it is.  The production on it is very good too; I think the production is better than Calculating Infinity.

Interesting Gwii, it must be more dynamic than Calculating Infinity which is their most dynamic full length studio release to date.

I got familiar with Ire Works, I like it, and Calculating is just fucking killer. Miss Machine might be the weakest album imo, but I think I'll get all the EPs now :lol This band is just fucking :metal

Took me ages to get around the fuss, Option Paralysis must of helped that because I got into Jazz only a while ago and this record HAS JAZZ which is just genius.

Someone on last.fm suggested a DEP/Meshuggah/Converge/Mastodon tour. How good would that be?

Listened to Ire Works after 65daysofstatic today. Was :metal
This band hasn't done any crap stuff, from the debut all the way to Option Paralysis. Even the pre-debut stuff is good!

Btw Sigz, what do you think of Irony Is A Dead Scene?

Irony is a Dead Scene was my introduction to DEP, and is easily one of their best albums. I think if it were a full length album or even just had a few more songs on it it would be my favorite (assuming those songs were at the same level quality-wise).

Finally got to seem them live yesterday at the Warped Tour. They were awesome, climbing all over the stage, their rhythm guitarist even went into the crowd mid song and started moshing. Set list went something like this:

Panasonic Youth
Room Full of Eyes
Milk Lizard
43% Burnt
Chinese Whispers
Sunshine The Werewolf
Good Neighbor
Farewell, Mona Lisa

Not exactly in that order though, this is all from memory.

I've listened to Option Paralysis a bit and the only songs I really like are Farewell, Mona Lisa, Widower, and Parasitic Twins.

uh this band might not be for me <.<
