So in the last week I have tried a couple of variations on the bacon milkshake. I am a veritable milkshake god, my best being my bourbon bread pudding milkshake, and figured I could do one justice. The first was made with a maple walnut gelato, and was pretty good. The smokiness was nice but a bit disconcerting. You taste it and your brain tells you it shouldn't be there, but after a while it adjust and tasted fine. The second was a strawberry bacon and brie cheese milkshake, which was really good. Strawberries and brie are a very natural combo, and the bacon slid right in between them nicely. I am actually thinking of a strawberry brie cheesecake with a crumbled candied bacon garnish and a vanilla wafer crust.
