Lineage: Tascam DR-1 (int/mic, wav 24bit/48kHz, low gain, low cut at 40 Hz) > Sound Forge 9.0 (volume, Pan/Expand, EQ, compression, resampling (wav 16bit/44.1kHz), tracking, fade in/out)
Recorded about 4 meters in front of the soundboard.
Tapers notes:
This audience recording came out not bad, though it suffers from some (actually one) very enthusiastic clappers, who were able to smother even Portnoy’s drums
But it was difficult to change the recording spot. Plus, Luczniczka Hall is quite boomy, and the recording reflects that. In general the sound at the venue wasn’t at the top at all (at least DT deserves more), especially the vocals – usually they’re too low in the mix. But in my opinion this boot deserves A-.
It was my first DT show, so I can’t compare this performance with any of the previous. Since I have some problems with JLB vocals, more instrumental oriented performance was more appealing to me. Personal highlights – The Dance Of Eternity and extended version of Solitary Shell.
OPETH, BIGELF (last song missing), UNEXPECT are recorded too.
