SLS >> OOM = REM > ADHD.

All great albums, although I think ADHD is a bit 'prog metal' for my liking. Love 'Left Out' though.

As short as it is, I really enjoy Memories In My Head. If this came out in the 70s, it wouldn't be considered an EP but a full fledged album.

Quote from: Riverside
The title of Riverside's new studio album (fifth in their career) has been revealed. It is "Shrine of New Generation Slaves" and the band will be continuing their work on it for the next two months in the Serakos studio in Warsaw. There will be 50 minutes of music on it divided into 8 completely new pieces.

"In 2012 we've been focusing on the work on the new album, and trying to prove, mostly to ourselves, that we can still surprise with something, and what's most important - create an album that would become our showpiece, music-wise and lyrics-wise" says Mariusz Duda, the band's leader. "The title might sound a bit intricate, but the acronym will definitely explain what we did with our music this time."

The predicted release date is the end of January 2013, but still this year (somewhere around November) we all are going to get to know the first single, and the video for it. The album will be released by Century Media/Inside Out and Mystic Production.

I am excited. :)

I have all of Riverside's albums, but I haven't really listened to any of them. Which one should I hit first?
Orion....that's the one with a bunch of power chords and boringly harsh vocals, isn't it?

I'd probably say Second Life Syndrome, most people seem to consider it their favorite (I'm not sure myself) but it is a really good one, and it gives you a nice view of how they sound.

I have Out of Myself, Second Life Syndrome, Rapid Eye Movement, and ADHD.  I think they are all great.

Try SLS and ADHD.  The first three I mentioned kind of have a somewhat similar sound to them while ADHD has a more energetic feel.

I love SLS, but ADHD is the one that didn't leave my CD player for *MONTHS* after its release.   At a certain point, I just decided to keep listening til I got sick of it.  I don't think that ever happened, I think I just gave up on the idea.

Now I'm off to go listen again.   ADHD is an AMAZING CD.   Top 5 of the decade IMO.

ADHD was my first Riverside album and it's a great introduction to them.  It's not overly long and every song is fantastic.  It's also consistently heavy and energetic (as Big Hath mentioned) so I think that's a great starting point.

ADHD is my favorite but they're all worth listening to.

Can't wait for the new album. I'm surprised that its being released so soon. I was expecting a spring 2013 release.

it took me a while to get into ADHD. not sure why, really; all the usual Riverside hallmarks are there, just with more of a keyboardy spin than usual. i remember straight up disliking it when it came out — wasn't until a year ago that i went back to it and enjoyed.

my favourite album remains Rapid Eye Movement, including aaaaaall the b-sides (especially the title track).

Dear fans, we're very pleased to inform that we've just finished recording our new album "Shrine of New Generation Slaves"! The fifth album, with a five-word title, and over 50 minutes of absolutely fresh music. 8 songs, of which the shortest, "Coda", will only be about 2 minutes long, and the longest, "Escalator Shrine", over 12 minutes long. The first single is going to be "Celebrity Touch" and you'll be able to hear it in one month's time already.

The planned released date for the new Riverside is January 2013. The tour promoting the album will begin in March 2013. We're going to post more detailed information about that soon.

Thank you all for your support and patience. We hope that you'll like the new album. And the music? Right now we can only say that it's different but you can tell it's us! :)

The cover and tracklist are coming up next week. Stay tuned!
R

Great news! Excited about the album, and I really hope there's a date here in March.  :hat

I really hope I can go to RoSFest in May. They're headlining along with The Flower Kings (and 1 other band that hasn't been announced yet). Maybe they'll do a short US tour around that time as well.

In the announcement for Riverside and Jolly playing at RoSFest, it is stated that Jolly and Riverside are going to be doing a mini-tour in the US. I'm guessing the tour dates will be around the east coast but we will see. I'm definitely considering going to RoSFest since Riverside and The Flower Kings will be playing 2 hours each.

This, except for Celebrity Touch, it doesn't really fit, IMHO. Similar to Shitload of Money on SGHN (though not as bad).

Also, excite! :caffeine:

I had to look up whatever Shitload of Money was, because I couldn't remember a Riverside song by that name, or an album with the acronym 'SGHN', but alright. That's pretty bad yeah.

I really like the title 'Escalator Shrine' and seeing as it's a 12 minute Riverside song, I'm sure it'll be amazing.
