Looks like I'll likely be interviewing Kevin Moore. Is there anything in particular you folks would like asked of him?

Also, I'm thinking the best lead question is definitely how did it feel to be nominated for the grammy. :neverusethis:

Ask him if he's ever opened again.
Cole: "Ow I just got hit in the balls"
Me: "How?"
Cole: "Well you know when you try to scratch your balls, and you scratch too hard?
I'll admit sometimes I want to listen to Dragonforce.

As a srs question, I'd like to hear a little about his plans for Chroma Key, and if he's officially laying it to rest or if we have something to look forward to in the future.

TELL HIM TO DO AN ALBUM WITH STEVEN WILSON PLEAAAAAAASE.

And this.

Well, of course - what is the status of Chroma Key, what are some of his favourite albums/artists/bands from 2011, what else is he doing other than OSI - plans for more soundtracks or what does he plan for the future? stuff like that.

Oh yeah, would be interesting to see if experimenting with female vocals (and dubstep lol) for OSI has ever been brought up.

Now that there are 2 albums after free, is there any chance/plans of getting a remix album with a few songs like in re:free? Or maybe revisiting songs like Stockholm and writing your own vocals/lyrics for it and publishing it digitally or as a bonus at some point?

This just from OSI/FW twitter: video interview with KM/JM https://www.guitarworld.com/exclusive-video-osis-kevin-moore-and-jim-matheos-talk-fire-makes-thunder

How does Fire Make Thunder differ from the previous OSI albums? Is there any song you're particularly fond/proud of on the album? How does it feel to listen to some of your earlier works like Dead Air for Radios or the OSI debut after all these years?

And like the others, I'd like to know if there'll be a new Chroma Key album in the future. Looks like I managed to avoid any DT questions! :lol

Well, I don't even plan to try any DT questions, so that's good!

I will admit my Chroma Key knowledge is very limited, so I'll try and do some research and figure out a good way to get into that subject.

Also, on the final track in my first listen... well... I'll just save it for a potential review.

Will there be a bonus track titled, "...But I Had A Pen And Some Paper, So What The Fuck"?

I don't know if I want to listen to even longer samples. I've already listened to the official sampler about 50-60 times.
Nick, when can we expect to see/hear/read the interview with Kev?

Interview. Sadly I wasn't able to reschedule when Jim had to cancel out of his original day, so it will just be KevMo.

Well shat, that's a bummer. Gotta admit though, it doesn't affect me one bit as I'm the exact opposite as you, Nick; I didn't even know who Jim was before OSI and I still haven't heard a lick of material outside of that project. Suffice it to say I'm still very excited, always great to hear from Moore when we can.

If you appreciate the riffing and guitar work in OSI then you HAVE to check out Fates Warning, starting with Parallels.

Nick, if it's not too late, I have one more question for KevMo: I'd like to know if he made references to his earlier lyrics intentionally on Blood, for example in Radiologue.

Even the Waves (Chroma Key) - "Keep heading West, That's the best"
That's exactly what I was referring to, along with the line "40 days and we're still waiting"! :tup Another one is:

The Escape Artist - "You act mysterious / But you speak in gibberish"
Astronaut Down (Chroma Key) - "You look so mysterious / But you sound so serious"

OSI - Radiologue
Had a fever
woke up in a sweat
bailing out the water

Chroma Key - Undertow
Last night hit the net
Woke up in a sweat
Same scene, different dream, sudden ending

I believe it's mostly his way of writing lyrics, selecting sounds rather than words. He probably has a few key phrases that come to him naturally when looking for certain sounds.

Radiologue - "I was heading West, thirty days faster"

Even the Waves (Chroma Key) - "Keep heading West, That's the best"

Space-Dye Vest: "Feeling my heart pull west."
Undertow: "Hit the interstate hard heading west."

I always thought the "west" references referred to him leaving DT and driving cross country.

Maybe in the Chroma Key instances...but I don't think he's so stuck in the past that he would still be referring to it now (in an OSI song) 18 years after the fact.
