One off project? Wow, the world would so much worse without Free and Blood.

Chyeah, got that right. I get nauseous thinking about it. Much less awesomeness in the world.

Thank Moore/Matheos they moved forward!

Speaking of, I heard the special edition second disc of Blood last night for the first time and it's awesome. No Celebrations with Bowness is amazing; the cover of Christian Brothers is awesome as well and while the extended Terminal track isn't all that great, it's a pretty cool jam.

The extended version of Terminal is good, I wouldn't listen to it all the time but Gavin really shines on it.

Hey, would anyone be interested in running (or helping me run because I'm not really good at it) some OSI survivors in anticipation of the new album?

I'd say hell yes but I haven't even participated in a survivor let alone help run one. I'll definitely participate though! Is it just an elimination tournament type-deal? I'm assuming it works like the television show; there's a certain number of people (songs) and we vote each off till there's one left...yes? I'm interested, although I'm sure there's someone more qualified to run it. If no one steps up though, count me in.

Got around to listening to the preview. I immediately pre-ordered the album. Would have gotten the version with the t-shirt if shipping had been less.

I'll run it if no one has started it yet.

Should I include bonus songs or not tho?

I will definitely participate in the survivor, but I agree with UMH, no bonus tracks should be included.
Think about this - Let's say this album maintains the quality of the last three.  That would have to be considered one of the best four album runs by any band, right?
I liked the samples very much, this might end up being their masterpiece! And yes, it'd be one of the best 4-album runs ever! :metal

Stupid question, but what is a "survivor"?  It's like a voting thing to determine what fans think are a band's best song?

Pretty much, but in my experience the least favorites are mostly my favorites.

Yup, then there is a finals as well to determine all time favorite song.

So I'll get started on it, what do you guys think? One album at a time, with a 24 hour voting window?

Just want to say that I think the album title and art are fantastic, but I wasn't really that taken by the samples. Then again I generally don't care much for samples. However I didn't like Blood as much as the first two albums and this seems to kinda head in that same direction.

Still, I hold a lot of faith in OSI and will be anxiously awaiting this.

Yeah, I'm down for this!  One album at a time sounds good.  We did something similar at my site in 2009 to determine the all-time fan favorite Kevin Moore song, which ended up being "Space-Dye Vest."

Listening to the sampler again, I'm going to assume this will be much heavier than Blood. Seems like there's much more focus on riffs than the atmosphere, but I have a feeling it's going to be an awesome mix.

That's actually good news.  I'm not listening to the samples because I want the new material to sound fresher on the first listen.

I loved Blood, but it's my least favorite OSI because some of the atmospheric moments didn't really click for me.  So a slight shift toward the riffy/heavy side of OSI would strike the PERFECT balance.

I don't like the heavy side of OSI all that much, which I suppose is why I prefer Chroma Key. It's also why Blood's my favourite OSI album, the title track is gorgeous.

Strange. I would definitely consider Blood to be my favorite. It's much more focused on ambiance, but the atmospheric songs play off the heavy stuff really well.

Yes. I think this is my most anticipated track going. It's a shame it's one of the shorter tracks on the album, but then again it might be an omniverse of awesomness jam-packed into 3 amazing minutes. I think it will be. I need this album. And the T-shirt.

Looks like I'll likely be interviewing Kevin Moore. Is there anything in particular you folks would like asked of him?

Also, I'm thinking the best lead question is definitely how did it feel to be nominated for the grammy. :neverusethis:
