I "got" TGE. Will check it out piece by piece as I can. :metal
Not listening to it immediately and in its entirety is a cardinal sin.

Seriously? Born? Meh? Eh, hopefully it grows on you. I swear to god though, if you question or bitch about the shredding, I will personally see it that Jeff Loomis comes over to your house and shit on your bed.

I don't like it but the riffing makes up for it. Its them. I don't like the out of tune wank solos in Slayer but thats them. I don't like the perfectly organized and music theoried solos of DT, but thats them. Nothing I can do.

Because I fell in love with them for a bit, then went through the very definition of an OD on music and I stayed because the people here are generally awesome.

Tonight was ridiculous. Went to Rock and Shock and spent most of my time drunk and hanging with Nevermore. Absolute blast. Some of the best conversations I've ever had with musicians:

The best part of the night was going around in a circle and talking about how shitty of a producer Kelly Gray is :lol

None  of them hate him as a person. They just think he can't mix/master a record for shit...at least a Nevermore record.

Actually, my other favorite moment was when a drunken Warrel Dane went all fanboy on Danny Trejo. He had no idea who the guy was, so he ran away :lol

That is what I thought. He just looks more badass in that picture than in the live and music videos I've seen. Nevermore and Tool shall be the first bands I get into when I get my new and awesome iPod.

Listened to this TGE at the recommendation of a friend at the gym the other day.

My mind was blown. Amazing. The lead towards the very end of the song TGE is one of the most metal things I think I have ever heard.

Definitely gonna check out their other stuff.

Glad you like what you hear. I recommend your next album either be Enemies of Reality (Andy Sneap Remix, this is crucial) or Dead Heart in a Dead World. You aren't entirely ready for The Politics of Ecstasy yet :p

Based on the comments up this page a bit, I'm listening to the River Dragon Has Come

The verdict is good.

Time for my bi-weekly post and I will present to you a controversial opinion:

As an album, Dreaming Neon Black outweighs This Godless Endeavor. The latter may have amazing individual tracks but it doesn't take me on a journey the way DNB does. Or maybe I've just played TGE too much for my own sake.

The Obsidian Conspiracy was a grower. Definitely took me time to enjoy it fully and consider it a worthy addition to the Nevermore catalog. But now I love it. I wouldn't call it album of the year though. Iron Maiden's The Final Frontier holds that spot for me.

But seriously, This Godless Endeavor is easily one of my favourite songs of all time.
