Haha, okay.

So it actually lives up to the expectation set by their previous albums?

I'd put it up there with This Godless Endeavor. Warrel's voice sounds awesome, and Loomis still has that Nevermore uber-heavy vibe going. I'd say yes.

As much as I'd love to sink my teeth into this album, I refuse to do so until the release date. I plan on picking it up the moment I get out of school on the 8th.
I felt its length in quite a few places.

This. Although it'd be more appropriately stated, I plan to pick it up at lunch on the 8th.

Unfortunately, it's not as strong as This Godless Endeavor.

Just feels like something is.....missing.

Disappointing after a 5 year wait, but most definitely not a bad album. Some kickass riffs as usual.

Looking forward to the new record big time. I really want to hear the cover of "Temptation" by The Tea Party. They are a great band and that is a killer tune.

New Nevermore sounds like Nevermore by the numbers.  Which is not to say that it's bad, but it's kinda passable next to some of their better works.

Mr. Neccy, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent post were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone on this board is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I am going to pick up TOC first day fore sure.  If you want to hear Temptation, it's on Warrel's myspace.  IMO, it's quite a dissapointing cover.  They have done the song no favours, and have taken the key right down and really killed the vibe IMO.  Warrel doesn't have the magic here, but hey it is a cover and kudos to them for not reworking the whole thing like they have done in the past.

IMO this shows how strong a trio of musicians the Tea Party were.  Jeff Martin is so amazing it's not funny.

I personally have never been big on their covers. They are interesting interpretations, but obscure the original identity of the song too much IMO. I really like the second half of Love Bites, when it kicks into gear. But the sludgey first half is almost unrecognizable.

I actually really enjoy Nevermore's cover of The Sound of Silence. Yes, the original is such a mellow song, while this one is rather heavy. But I feel it adds a new charm to the song, and is an interesting twist to a classic.

Surprised no one's in here discussing the new album.  I've listened to it once today, and it's definitely  :metal :metal

Hard for me to give much more of an opinion than that, however, especially since this is actually the first release I've heard from them.
