You have some real hojos to suggest another Cornell song after all this. Unfortunately, I hate it. His voice is so annoying.  :lol

Is Ed Sheeran the pinnacle of vocal performance for you?

This is such an odd question - why did you pick Sheeran? I've heard like two of his songs so I can't even form an opinion on him beyond "I don't listen to him."
From a Mega Man Legends island jamming power metal to a Walrus listening to black metal, I like your story arc.

Who the hell is Carol Decker? *googles....

I cannot say with any certainly any of my male peers at that time would have known who she was, let alone have a crush on her. I've never heard China in your Hand either. And I remember liking Heart and Soul!

Heart and Soul was T'Pau's big US hit, but China in your Hand was their big UK hit - It was at number one for about a billion weeks and was played to death at every occasion for years thereafter. It's still a big karaoke and wedding dance tune to this day.  Carol was cute in a "girl next door" kind of a way - but if anyone knows any ex-UK Armed Forces who were there when she did her "show" for the troops in the Falklands, they might tell you a different story...

I've seen T'Pau live several times back then. They put on a good show and were much more rocking live than in the studio and Carol was "lewd" to say the least.

I generally like people with red hair, so she was right up my alley  ;D
Must've been Kwyji sending all the wrong songs.   ;D

Given that I am not an "ex-UK Armed Forces member", do tell (or point to somewhere I can read up).

I don't mind redheads either, just not her.

Shirley Manson back then looked like an underage to me, I never saw the appeal.

Check out the live video from the show they did in Mexico not long ago; she looks and sounds really good (and I don't necessarily mean that in a sexual way; she sings great and has a very commanding presence on stage).

Another abysmal song that I can't escape from.

I got one: this autotuned "meet me in the middle" song.  OMG I hear it everywhere!  There's a Dodgers player that has it as his walk up music.  So sick of it and so annoying.
"I don't know nuttin about nuttin" - Marshawn Lynch

The very soul of what was once real music is now lost in a digital quagmire of emotionless sonic madness.
