In the past, I have always said Physical Graffiti.  But lately, I've been leaning towards Houses of the Holy.   A bit more concise.

TBH...I can't imagine anyone voting for Presence, or ITTOD, or Coda.

All the others have their flag wavers.   But I can't think of a single LZ fan who can seriously put those albums at the top of the heap.   They are all really good, and I still listen to them, love them, and enjoy them.   But as a body of work, they just can't touch anything that came before them.

It's a pretty diverse group here. I bet they'd each get a vote. Maybe not Coda... But I don't really count that one.

I don't think they have one poor album in their discography but for me it's always, hands down, no contest, ZoSo/Zepp IV. That's the one album I honestly think is as close as you get to 'objectively perfect rock album.'

It’s really hard not to agree with this. Even though I prefer either HotH or PG, it’s mostly because 4 is so overplayed. But when you strip away all that bias, and think back to the time you first heard it...it’s very difficult to not give it first place.

For me it's Houses of the Holy with Led Zep 4 a close second.

HOTH and PG are both very close to IV for me. But man, you're right, I remember entire summers as a kid spinning Pink Floyd and Zeppelin. Dark Side and IV, before that 'magic' feeling wore off, when each song still sounded new (since I never listened to the radio). Amazing.

IV for me. Physical Graffiti is a close second.

IV may be the "perfect" rock album. When 5 of the 8 tracks still get consistent airplay on rock radio almost 47 years later and so many people know who it is/what song it is, you know you've got a classic.

The only song I don’t hear on the radio is Four Sticks... so I would argue 7.

IV changed my musical life as a 14 year old kid.  Replace Hats off to (Roy) Harper with Hey Hey, and III would be my favorite.  But, Hats Off is one of the two Led Zeppelin songs I legitimately dislike.

I'll see that and raise you Boston's debut album, which has 8 songs that are all still played on classic rock radio.

I always answer Physical Graffiti, primarily because of Ten Years Gone, but Houses and IV are not that far behind.   If it wasn't for The Crunge  and D'yer Maker (two of my least favorite Zep songs) Houses would be higher.

Tough call. The first 6 albums are easily in at least my top 20 favorite albums, period. I went out on my own apparently however and picked III. Gallows Pole, Immigrant Song, and especially Since I Been Loving You, offer something for all tastes. Like I said, this could just as easily been one of the other five.

Very difficult, but I think I'll go with Physical Graffiti. Kashmir is one of the greatest songs ever written (can't believe no-one pointed that out yet :) ) and PLEASE don't forget In The Light!! I think it's a very underrated, often overseen song. Bonhams drums rule  :metal

BTW, I really love In Through The Out Door, it's one of my favorite albums by LZ, honestly. Only song on there which I don't like is Hot Dog. Other than that, fantastic album.

Obviously I voted for Physical Graffiti, a real no-brainer for me. But I'm always shocked at the lack of love Presence gets. It's a truly amazing album and deserves more recognition. I don't know why people don't like it, it's head and shoulders above HOTH IMO.

Hard to choose as the first 6 have all had their time in the spotlight for me. I initially voted PG. There was a summer, i think 1988, where i spent many times listening to that record in fields of hazy sunshine with friends. Down By The Seaside, anyone?

I changed to III , though. The natural, crusty goodness mixed with super tasteful studio effects and the mix of styles is very neat. Sums up Zep very succinctly.

Houses of the Holy.   After that, it's a toss up between II and Physical Graffiti.

HOTH, though PG and IV are not too far behind it. When I was "discovering" LZ and going through their discography, just the entirety of HOTH really stuck to me, and it has since become my favorite album by them. IV has a lot of great songs, but I've heard those singles played to death and back, so it's kind of worn off it's sheen, and PG is a great double album, but I don't think I've listened to it enough to really give it the title of my favorite just quite yet, but both of those are a close tie for second.

In Through The Out Door.

 >:(
I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

Zeppelin is largely a "hits" band for me.  Achilles Last Stand is far and away my favorite Zep song, but the rest of presence is average at best.  I ultimately went with IV over Physical Graffiti because IV is the only album I can play without skipping anything.  PG, HotH and IttOD would probably be tied for second.

I'm gonna have to go with Zeppelin II. It was my first Led Zeppelin album and I can still remember listening to it for the first time and just being blown away. If I stepped back and looked at their catalog more analytically I might pick a different album as their "best", but none of them had the same impact on me as II.
