Subsignal
« on: May 29, 2018, 01:12:57 AM »
I remember when I was searching around the classic Mike Portnoy forums to find any new album to listen to and this one person talked about Subsignal. There was a teaser for their new album, it sounded good and I bought their new album Beautiful and Monstrous on iTunes. I loved it so much and still do. It's very melodic and beautifully crafted music. Not sure why it's never talked about and searching these forums pretty much confirms no one talks about them here either.

Anyway they have a new album called La Muerta and it sounds pretty damn amazing. Really cool keyboard patches, proggy and just overall well composed album.

The Bells of Lyonesse could be my favorite song so far this year!

Anyone else here who loves this band? :)

Yes - all of their albums are really good.  I haven't heard the new one yet, but am looking forward to it.

jingly.boi turned me on to their album Touchstones recently. Very good stuff, need to check this one out.
From a Mega Man Legends island jamming power metal to a Walrus listening to black metal, I like your story arc.

I bought the album, but haven't had a chance to listen to it yet. I have a lot of 2018 releases to get to still. My roulette took a lot of my music listening time.

Great album from Subsignal. Reminds me a lot of Paramount (Sieges Even) and the first Subsignal release. Secondly, the production is stellar.

I really, really like this band. Seen them live a couple of times - very nice people as well. The singer is a beast.  :tup
Keep prog alive - see it live!

It was definitely the better of two big-name prog releases from last week.

I thought I might've used them in a roulette of yours. I'll check out this new album tonight.

Nope... Nekov was the genius that submitted them to me.

 ;)

I've fallen out with them a bit, with prog metal in general actually, but these guys are one of the few I keep coming back to now and then. I have their album in my to listen list which will probably happen some time tomorrow.

Agree! I love the new album, best one since the debut for me! It's back to being a bit more melody and pop oriented but with the right amount of progressive elements for this type of music. Production is top notch!

I feel the keyboard patches stand out a bit more than usual and Arno Menses is as always pure wonder to listen to. Interludes like Teardrops will dry in the source of Origin is a nice addition imo! Adds a nice breathing point and some variation.
