I actually own only the album I sent.   Wow.   Now, I own four copies of it (there are a couple different mixes of the album) but still.

All I know is I got cut from my last album roulette after two rounds, losing off Rainbow Rising and Ozzy Diary of a Madman, so there are no guarantees here.   But I'm going to go down swinging the classic rock hammer!    Up the Irons!!!!

I admire someone who sticks to their guns. Rainbow Rising is an awesome album. Not as fond of Diary of a Madman, but still a decent album in my book.

I'm sorry, Elite! Next time you'll have a better chance at getting in. After 14 people signed up I felt like I had to cut the sign-ups really short  :lol

I'm halfway through the first listen of all (14) of these albums, but something worth pointing out is that someone who wasn't immediately signed up came in and is leading the pack, extremely happy with their submission.

Also I had noticed one of these albums is 74 minutes.  :tdwn It's a little too long but I'll take it for this round (since I didn't even notice until it was much too late). Or maybe I'll abolish the time limit altogether. I'll figure it out at the end of the round.

Going to get a bunch more listens squeezed in throughout the day.  Hangman next post.  :corn

In Stadler's case, he sticks to his Love Gun. (Speaking of classic rock, did you know Love Gun went platinum the day it was released? What the fuck? How?!)

I would like to keep quiet on how much I stick to my Love Gun.  :)

I say this respectfully, but I don't think that people quite understand just how big Kiss was for a three or four year period there.  They were MASSIVE.  Love Gun was platinum on release, as were ALL FOUR solo albums.

Now what that means is that retailers bought a million of each to sell; that doesn't mean that the punters actually bought them.  There were probably 800,000 copies of those solo albums (976,000 for Peter Criss) in the cut-out bins shortly after.   But that late '76 through '78 - '79, Kiss was literally the biggest band in the world.

(It's also why many consider Kiss a joke; none of the four could control themselves.   Ace and Peter with coke, liquor and broads, Gene and Paul with microphones and press.   Kiss - the legendary, mythological Kiss of 1975 - had no business on Mike Douglas and Tom Snyder and the like, but there they were.  Yes, I know "Mike Douglas" was before that (1974) but the point remains.  Gene went from "evil incarnate, what-the-fuck-is-this-guy", to "dating Cher tabloid nonsense" in the space of a year.)

I will say, Stadler, if you make it past the elimination round, you're more than welcome to send me a KISS album, since I've never heard one in full. Also, you should take a look at this scene from Role Models (not work safe):

I'm going to kick right off about this :lol

You should either only judge the album based on the first 60 minutes or maybe we could all be allowed to send one album that's 60+ minutes? I would've sent C&C's best album (even though the one I sent is incredible) if I could've gotten away with it.

In regards to my guesses, the only one I felt certain about was Tomi but I even fudged that  :rollin

By the way, I was going to suggest what twosuitsluke did:  at "60:00", hit stop, wherever it lands.   So be it.

As for later submissions, if you cut Rainbow Rising, you're a f******g idiot and don't deserve a Kiss album.  :)   I'm kidding; I have ideas for about half of my subsequent submissions  should I be lucky enough to continue on.

(And for the others, Kattleox and I are buds; I have no doubt he will be objective, and will have no problems sending me packing if it doesn't make his Top whatever.   Regardless of how the elimination round goes, I'm going to pester him here so there's no incentive either way!)

I wouldn't feel comfortable only judging the first 60 minutes and potentially missing 2-3 tracks in some cases. That would be weird. I think I'll just omit the time limit because I don't feel like checking the lengths myself each time and really I guess it doesn't add much work if I'm already hearing 50+ minutes. Sorry to those who hedged submissions based on the time limit but so far everyone's impressed me in some way.

And yes, Stadler is my brother from another generation's mother, but friends get judged the same as everyone else, no hard feelings. :)

You should either only judge the album based on the first 60 minutes or maybe we could all be allowed to send one album that's 60+ minutes?

My vote would be to the latter choice.  I had a writeup all ready to go on my first choice, but just before I clicked send, noticed it was 79 minutes.  So, into the trash pile it went.  I'd still love the chance to play that - assuming I make it out of Round zero.
