This one is Stadler's; Tom Walts is Tomislav (if he's in this roulette). I guess Need is Lethean? I must say I like Hegaiamas, but I still like Orvam more.

I think it's power/prog metal, because I've got Anthriel from Chad in my roulette. I actually haven't checked them out, even though I liked the song a lot. Gonna maybe check this album out tomorrow.

Anyway, from what I remember of the song I've got, this is a risky submission.

I'm just a fogey trapped in a young(ish) body.  :lol

These days growls are muy mal - I like my intensity with melodies these days, or even better, just super chilled out music. Grown men yelling and growling and screaming like my bowels after burrito and margarita night at Casa Fiesta don't exactly appeal to me anymore

The Pathway is the best power metal (in a wider sense) album that has come out from Finland, and there's been a lot of it.

With all due respect to jingle and that band, I've heard that album a couple times already, and without giving away anything for the write-up, it doesn't even touch the shadows of my favorite Finnish power metal albums. Not. Even. Close.

Oh. Well then yeah that makes sense  :rollin

Two of my favorite Finnish PM albums are Stratovarius's Episode and Sonata Arctica's Winterheart's Guild. Episode in particular is in my top 3 albums of all time and is my all-time favorite metal album. Those two albums alone define 'the best' power metal imo.

Winterheart's Guild? I mean, even if we don't count Unia and albums after that, because that's not really power metal anymore, I would at least take Ecliptica and Reckoning Night over WH. And maybe Silence, too.

But hey, tastes and all.

Snippets in a couple days. I still have to hear a few. :)

Also yeah. Silence and Ecliptica are blatant Stratovarius clones, and even though I love the albums, they absolutely pale compared to Winterheart's. Winterheart's is a masterstroke of power metal genius in every single way, only bested by Episode. I wrote an 8 page paper on Gravenimage in high school.  :lol

Reckoning Night is a close second but if we get into that territory I'd be listing hundreds of other power metal albums too haha :)

Ya'll got strange definition of "power" metal - Antrhiel is much more prog than power.  No way in hell I'd put 'em in the same category as Stratovarius.
The Pathway is the best power metal (in a wider sense) album that has come out from Finland, and there's been a lot of it.
