Nope sorry :(

If you're looking for the vinyl it's still for sale online for around $20.

It would be fantastic if the album dropped this year. At the moment it doesn't seem like it will be a particularly strong year musically, so we need as many bands as possible to save it.  ;D

Always ready for more dredg. Can't believe it's been 8 years since Chuckles.

Also does Mourning This Morning remind anyone else of Lullaby by The Cure?

This was just posted to 1 of the FB groups.

You can read Drew's frustration and it sounds like releasing a new album has become out of their control for  few different reasons.

"It's not so easy with us. Basically I have good news: We have written about 20 new songs and have been rehearsing for over a year. We have over 100 hours of unpublished music, all still in demo form, but we have already talked to producers and studios to make it more concrete. " The problem is and remains: life. Private matters that do not allow any discussion, and those are currently chasing a stick into the spokes of a wheel that is currently running smoothly again. "We just can't go on at the moment, we have to be patient," says Roulette. "But the good thing is: we're burning! A new Dredg record, a new tour, all of this will come as soon as possible. The waiting is almost killing us internally. But isn't that also nice? We exactly know again, what we want. It willi be a rock record, surely with a few synths, but essentially what we love about this band - what Dredg stands for. "

Translated from the actual interview with Drew Roulette in the German "visions magazine".

it might be 100 hours of studio tapes/jams. I mean if they started writing together in 2018, 2 years off and on, 100 hours doesn't seem so much.

Been listening heavily to Catch without arms and Leitmotif a lot lately

It was basically a clip of his phone playing a new track, hard to tell but it definitely seems like a return to the Catch With Arms sound

I was able to listen to what Drew posted yesterday and I agree that it sounds like they are going back to their older sound. It will be interesting to see what these guys went for after all this time.

Drew was on thefive10 podcast:

https://thefive10.com/2021/05/12/dredg-on-thefive10-podcast/

Sounds promising that they are returning to their older sound. Can't wait to hear the new record when it does hit.

thanks. Yeah the older sound, and some of the old demos may finally see the light of day (there's many that I would love to finally hear recorded for albums; Time Will Tell, Holding a Remedy Potion, Wonderous Miracle, etc).

Also this Archival project sounds intriguing, with some different forms of media even; VHS, lol.

when that and new music comes?..who knows still. Maybe 2022. It sounds like they have a lot of music they have worked on and  even more they may work on. Some 60 tunes even potentially between old and new jams.

It feels weird that Chuckles was a decade ago. That album at the time kinda killed my interest in the band and I've struggled with even revisiting the older albums in the last few years, but returning to the older sound is a smart idea. Must be weird for them to get back on the horse after so long though.

I can't think of another album that seemed to completely kill a band like Chuckles did for Dredg. I appreciate they were trying to do something different, but man was it a dud. I still listen to the older stuff from time to time.

I was just completely confused by Chuckles. I thought it was a joke album at first and the "real" one would come soon after, but obviously it never did. Coming off such a masterpiece like Pariah I could not believe that the band went so far off their own path. I still remember seeing them open for Coheed & Cambria in 2005 and the drummer played the piano part at the end of Bug Eyes while simultaneously playing drums...that was one of the coolest "show-off" things I've seen.

I bought El Cielo and Catch Without Arms a few years back from a used bin in the record store after hearing the band name come up over and over on here. Only got around to listening to El Cielo in the last two months or so, but man, I really dig that album. I'll give them other one a go when I have time.
Hire me. I'm talentless but malleable.

To be fair, Tool were "working" on a new album for like 12 years so dredg are almost there.  :lol
