Symphony X Survivor - The Odyssey - Round 2
« on: January 23, 2018, 05:49:24 PM »
Round 2 of The Odyssey survivor. In this division of the survivor, we decide which songs from this album will go on to the finals & consolations. This album placed 4th in the album survivor, so the 1st, 2nd & 3rd place songs will go on to the finals, with 4th going to consolation, where it'll have an extra chance to accompany it in the finals. For this round, vote for the track you want to go to the finals the least. If you don't care about voting &/or haven't heard all of the albums but still want to know the current results, select "(see results without voting)". You cannot see the results otherwise & once you have voted, you cannot change your vote. Round lasts 24 hours.

Results last round:
Frontiers - 4 votes (50%)
Incantations Of The Apprentice - 1 vote (12.5%)
Masquerade '98 - 3 votes (37.5%)

The bonus track is the first out. That's a shame seeing how as it's one of my favourites off the album, but hey, what can you do.

Actually I've been thinking it over lately & - as much as I don't really like IOTA as a song, the other bonus track has zero reason to be on any version on this album. It's placement makes it feel redundant next to King Of Terrors (my fault  :blush), the album already has a callback to a previous song, & it was recorded 4 years before that album even came out. It should've been on Twilight In Olympus!  So with that in mind, I'm changing my vote.

Masquerade, which belongs to another album anyway.
I use my sig to pimp some bands from Italy! Check out Elvenking (Power / Folk metal), Folkstone (Rock / Medieval metal), Arcana Opera (Gothic/Noir/Heavy metal) and the beautiful voice of Elisa!

Masquerade 98'

On my album, its positioned at the end of the album right after the title track.  The title track is so epic, thats how the album should end and it always seems weird that this song comes on.  Its a good remake, but doesn't belong.

That's a general issue with bonus tracks, they're slapped at the end of the album without anyone bothering to find a place for it in the tracklist. That's difficult with live tracks and remakes, but when you have an actual studio song as a bonus track, just put it properly in the tracklist I say! But no label seems to care, nor any band tries to push this.
