The "MSPaint an album cover" thread v. noughties throwback
« on: December 20, 2017, 07:34:43 AM »
So, we haven't had a photoshop/creative thread for a while. So I am resurrecting an idea from the old DT.net/DTF.com days where in we paint an album cover using MSPaint or one of the various clones available for Unix-like OSs (minus the band/album name of course). The others then try to guess your entries based on your artistic skills or lack thereof. Don't cheat by using a better drawing software, the whole point is the tool set should be limited (NO PHOTOSHOP!).

There are no prizes for a correct guess other than a sense of accomplishment and my approval at a job well done. This was loads of fun in the past, so hopefully we get quite a few participants.

Here's a few old ones I found in my photobucket to get us started.

The first one looks like a Meshuggah album cover.

I just happened to see the cover for Anathema's Judgement album RIGHT AFTER I looked at this thread... pretty sure that's what the second cover is supposed to be...
I don't want MP playing with DT unless they were making a drummer change. If they let MM go and bring back MP, then fine, but no guest appearance please.

This is not a judgement on that drawing because I suck so much at art, but there's no way I would have guessed that  :lol

Well, I was going to guess that it was "A Squid Life," by SpongeBob Squarepants and Friends, so...   :dunno:

Top one is Soilwork - Stabbing the Drama.

Funny thing, I was just thinking about something like this a couple weeks ago.  There was a thread like this started on another old DT/MP website which is apparently unmentionable here, and some of the work that was done there was incredible.  Several peeps much more artistically talented than I.  Glad to see its reincarnation!

Okay, I'm not an artist by any means, but this looked like fun so I figured I'd join in.

I thought this could be a Jordan Rudess album but it's not. I still feel like I should know this one though

I have no idea what album that is.  But as for you not being an artist, just SHUT UP!  That is a really good drawing, especially for such a primitive drawing program.
