Ugh, sorry it took so long, I'm a slacker. I would say that I did this in the spirit of having a showdown between the two people who have the biggest reputation of sending late here, but it was just laziness on my part.

I don't know what it was, but when I heard the Enshine last year, I loved it. The vocals, surprisingly, did not bother me at all. I thought the music is so cool and mesmerizing, almost like a Pink Floyd with growls. And even though they are growls, somehow they don't manage to be in your face. I love this album.
MESMERIZING, that word is perfect. That's how I would describe it.
Anyway
What both songs have slightly in common here is that they're built on pretty tasty crunchy guitarwork, I dig that. In the case of Elite's song (New Horns by Messa) it does start to get a bit old once you get to the end, the song feels a bit longer than it is due to the little progression that's going on. On the other hand, we have Sacul with Ibitsu by Boris which is dynamic, fast tempo and a garage-rock/punk vibe to it with a lot of energy rather than the slow doom-drenched track on the other side. What is more up my alley if I pick solely based on those distinctions? Probably the high tempo rocker. All things considered though, New Horns scratches my doom itch in a way other bands in the genre are quick to bore me. There's a certain flair to the female singer and she reminds me of someone I can't put my finger on. Ibitsu doesn't waste its time and jumps into action straight away, admittedly great energy, and interesting vocal style. The more improv-sounding punky guitar solo was quite cool, even if the vocals were a tad distracting at times.
After lots of thinking I've made up my mind, gonna have to say goodbye to Sacul and Boris, sorry. A shame since for the first time in this roulette I honestly did like everything that was sent to me.
1. Aenaon - Oneirodynia
2. Mew - The Zookeeper's Boy
3. Enshine - Resurgence
4. Corelia - The Sound of Glaciers Moving
5. Dream the Electric Sleep - Elizabeth
6. Gallows - In the Belly of a Shark
7. Messa - New Horns
7. While Heaven Wept - Vessel
9. Boris - Ibitsu
I got inspired by Parama's beautiful speech in Sacul's roulette so I'm gonna set a hard deadline on the next round (also cause this round took a bit longer I think) of 48 hours, after that I'm starting my listens. I've got 3/8 subs in, haven't checked tomi's PM yet so if that song is fair game it'll be 4/8, good pace!
