Of that list of songs, while I am sure I have heard most if not all of them, I can only place maybe half of them without knowing the artist.

I voted Everlong, Black Hole Sun, Smells Like Teen Spirit, My Heart Will Go On, and Under the Bridge. A lot of those aren't even close to my favorite song by that artist.

I mean this list has only 3 out of the 4 big bands that came out of the Seattle grunge scene.  What would be Alice in Chains' biggest hit?  Man in the Box?  Would?  Them Bones?  Down in a Hole?

Technically, "No Excuses" from Jar of Flies. It hit #1 on the US Main Rock, #3 on US Alternative, and #17 in Canada. Outside of that, I would say "Them Bones" was probably their biggest hit.

I would guess Rooster was AIC biggest hit.

Man in the Box is the only AIC song I'm familiar with (at least that I recognize by name)...for what that's worth.

If there is a thread for the '00s, I suspect I will look at the list and it will prove out that I had pretty much given up on radio by that point, since I likely will know only a couple of songs on it.  :lol

Kev, you should do one for the '70s as well.  I think we have enough fogeys to get a fair number of votes.

As a child of the 90's, I have to disagree with the old timers in here saying the music from the 90's suck.

As a child of the 90's..... man, replace that Celine Dion song with The Power of Love or Because You Loved Me  :lol

Everlong
Jeremy
Ironic
Smooth
Black Hole Sun

I know some people like to make fun of this band, but how big was Creed's Higher around 1999?

Note to peeps:

THIS WAS NOT INTENDED TO BE A LIST OF THE BEST OR MOST CLASSIC 90'S SONGS. IT WAS MERELY A LIST OF CLASSIC SONGS FROM THE 90'S.

Good grief.

And yes, I will do the 00's and 70's.  :hat

Yes, we are just reacting to the comments that the 90s is crap for music because of the list.

Yea I don't think this is the best list to represent the 90s as a 90s kid, I voted:

Red Hot Chili Peppers
Foo Fights

those two songs are awesome.  I've never been a big fan of grunge music.  I enjoy Nirvana a bit, but find them fairly overrated.  Alanis Morriset just missed my cut.  Was never a fan, but those songs were so big in my childhood it's hard not to enjoy Ironic a bit.
