I have everything on my iPod. I put the vocalist in parenthesis so I can keep track of who songs on what.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D

I've kind of taken to just making a play list of the instrumental stuff.  I like Odyssey, because I like JLT, but some of the other vocalists are, well, not bad, but don't knock my socks off.   I'd rather listen to him play guitar, honestly.

I'm not sure I could hear a bunch of straight instrumentals. I only listen to Marching Out and Rising Force, occasionally pulling out Odyssey or Perpetual Flame. If I listen to anything else, it would be with purpose to follow up on a discussion like this.

The JSS thread became a MAlmsteen thread.

That's because he ( JSS ) did a fantastic job on those albums. And at a time when Yng was inspiring a retirement movement of the guitar heros of the time ( pre car accident Skinny Yngwie , not the bumbling angry large fellow we have come to know and love ). Somewhere on the Tube there is a compilation of the Alcatrazz No Parole solo's , they are still incredible.

To bring the topic back on point, I've listened to the first couple of songs of the new JSS album and so far so good, quite cracking stuff.  Howie is a monster on the axe.

Honestly I didn't even check anything out. It was probably when he did Perpetual Flame, that I ended going back through his discog.

Seventh Sign, Magnum Opus and Facing the Animal are worthwhile.  Alchemy is my fav but I know it's not rated very highly with others.

All of this is correct. Particularly the last bit 😀

Don’t judge Facing The Animal by the first track, it gets awesome after that

I was torn between the thread veering off topic ( again ) and not knowing who was being referenced . I searched the available emoji's and selected that one to represent " with a slack jaw and not much to say " .

Maximum Security is an amazing TMac album. I think I'd still take Edge os Sanity over it though, but its close.

I like EOI with Steve Smith and Sheehan better as well. Maximum has a better sound overall and Tmac 's playing may be a scoch better. He changed the game in many ways , and an awesome keyboard to go along with. It was the album I was listening to when I created this account , so I just ran with it.

Nice man.  I find TMac underrated in general, he's as good and better than most shredders out there, especially back in the day.  He simply has the perfect mix of shred and melody with phrasing to boot.

JEFF SCOTT SOTO

The Duets Collection - Volume 1 - STREAMING

Frontiers Music s.r.l.

GENRE: Hard Rock

RELEASE DATE: October 8, 2021

Using the down time from his normally relentless touring activity due to the worldwide pandemic, renowned vocalist Jeff Scott Soto decided to create a very special album which pays tribute to some of the classic songs he has recorded over the course of his storied career. But, rather than simple re-records, he wanted to make the album something special, unique. So, he not only did re-record these songs with his musical friends Jorge Salan, Howie Simon (guitars), Leo Mancini (guitars), Tony Dickinson (bass) and Edu Cominato (drums), but he called in some of his fellow rock friends and vocalists to create a unique DUETS album. With the likes of Erik Martensson (Eclipse, W.E.T.), Dino Jelusick (Animal Drive, Dirty Shirley), Eric Martin (Mr. Big), Johnny Gioeli (Hardline), Deen Castronovo (Revolution Saints), Nathan James (Inglorious), Russell Allen (Symphony X), Renan Zonta (Electric Mob), Mats Leven (Candlemass, TSO), BJ (Spektra, SOTO), and Aliro Netto, this is an amazing international affair.

The tracklisting alone will surely make any JSS fan excited, much less hearing the final product. Where can you get such an amazing list of singers and songs all in the same place?

Jeff says, "It was a DREAM to cast these voices and I am so amped for you to hear the results…”

Jeff Scott Soto is a man that needs virtually no introduction to any discerning melodic rock fan. Jeff launched his career at a young age in tremendous fashion as the lead vocalist for Yngwie Malmsteen’s debut album, "Rising Force" and the sophomore album, “Marching Out”. That first step into the spotlight has led to a career that has seen Jeff play and work with an outstanding number of artists and genres. From the AOR of Eyes and Takara, to the hard rock and Metal of Talisman, Axel Rudi Pell, Soul SirkUS and of course, his time with the legendary Journey. Jeff has also maintained a solo career over the past decades, while also recently joining up with the progressive metal supergroup Sons of Apollo.

Tracklist:
1. Livin’ The Life (ROCK STAR) with Erik Martensson (Eclipse/W.E.T.)
2. Don’t Let It End (YNGWIE MALMSTEEN) - with Dino Jelusick (Animal Drive)
3. Mysterious (TALISMAN) - with Eric Martin (Mr. Big)
4. Believe in Me (JSS) - with Nathan James (Inglorious)

6. I’ll Be Waiting (TALISMAN) - with Alirio Netto (Shaman, Queen Extravaganza)
7. Callin’ All Girls (EYES) - with Russell Allen (Symphony X, Allen/Lande)
8. Colour My XTC (TALISMAN) - with Renan Zonta (Electric Mob)
9. Warrior (AXEL RUDI PELL) - with Johnny Gioeli (Hardline, Axel Rudi Pell)

I've never been able to get into Soto's output except for the project he did with Soul Sirkus.  That was quite good.
Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.
