Anything by Matt Smith of Theocracy, but especially dat first note from "Laying The Demon To Rest" (hang in there for the chorus too bc it's pretty epic as well):

I don't have three off the top of my head but Darroh Sudderth from Fair To Midland on Fables From a Mayfly: What I Tell You Three Times Is True is one of my favorite hard rock performances, he has some amazing pipes.

1.  Geoff Tate / Operation Mindcrime.

Not sure what else needs to be said about this.  Just the pinnacle of operatic heavy metal singing.

2.  Tom Englund (Evergrey) / In Search of Truth

Haunting, so much emotion just pours out of this guy.  Lyrically, it's a concept album about being abducted by aliens - you can hear his fear, paranoia, and anguish all throughout this disc.

3.  Halford - Resurrection

I didn't think he had this in him when it came out.  Screaming like a banshee on the title track, singing wonderfully on Silent Screams, and just a clinic on straight-up metal singing throughout the disc.  He sounds phenomenal on this album.

Also echo the James Hetfield / Load comments - that's probably his best album, vocally.
