I count seven Yay's. The covers have it.
By the way, some interesting choices for the HoF round. Pretty impressed (and I'm looking forward to one song as much as any in the entire roulette, for various reasons; though that said, that person dodged a HUGE bullet without even realizing it).
I'm looking forward to some interesting write-ups then!
They might be; after all that buildup, I've listened a couple times to each, and was MIGHTILY disappointed. Not in every case, but I was thinking "HoF round, all good bands, no Vulfpeck (just kidding, Antigoon), and two songs I've been meaning to listen to for YEARS, and this is going to be GREAT!" Not so much. I'm going to listen again so that I can be fair to the scoring, but... my dilemma here is that I've boxed myself into a corner; do I purely rate just the song and whether I like it? Or do I account for how indicative it is of the artist's work (as I know it)? Or degree of agreement on HoF worthiness? I'm leaning to the first one, but I'll give another listen before I decide. I was even thinking just ranking them one through 10, and giving the first song "10", the second "9", the third "8", but that's not really fair to spring that unannounced.
Here are the bands and songs, in no particular order (except one):
A Tribe Called Quest - "Dis Generation"
Jeff Buckley - "Grace" (and bullet dodged; I would have given "Hallelujah" a 1 on principle)
Linkin Park - "One More Light"
Judas Priest - "Cathedral Spires"
Soul Asylum - "Gullible's Travels"
Styx - "Red Storm"
Television - "venus"
The Cure - "10:15 Saturday Night"
Thin Lizzy - "Emerald"
Triumph - "Headed For Nowhere"
