Tempo of Time : A Zelda Prog Epic
« on: September 19, 2017, 06:31:37 AM »
Hey guys,

For the past 3 years I've been working hard on this pretty special piece with a good friend of mine.
We wanted to create not just a mere medley of Ocarina of Time songs but a true prog epic in the vein of our favorite bands, something unique which would mix pieces from the OST with our own original stuff.
And here it is finally !

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pDH3g6rRjM8

Enjoy  ;)

Zelda's my favorite game franchise ever and I hold remixes/etc. of its music to a very high standard... and this RULES!! Fantastic work!!

Watched this earlier today and was mind-blown. I've been eagerly awaiting this after seeing teasers on YouTube posted by Marc Papeghin, so I'm glad it has finally arrived, and totally surpassed my expectations for it!

I would love a Mega Man or Mario medley at some point, especially the former because the music really lends it self to rock genres, though the latter could do with some unique prog-infusion.

Great stuff, I used to be really in to video game remixes, and this is as good as anything I can remember hearing, and ....

This makes me as hard as the Water Temple!

I can't stop listening to this. Thank you so much. This thing is indeed fucking amazing. Played it twice while playing BOTW earlier and it's so perfect.

I split the mp3 file into chapters and put it on my iPod as a proper album. This is now part of my regular listening habits.

I would love a lossless download of the piece.

So in Breath of the Wild there's the Hero's Path mode that lets you see your adventure in motion on the world map, it tracks your progress. Playing this as the soundtrack to that is just killer. I love it :)

Finally got round to watching this and I'm blown away. One of the best things I've seen on Youtube for a long time - wonderfully arranged and performed! It brought back a lot of memories of all the hours I spent playing this game as a kid, it's always been one of my favourite video games. You combined that feeling expertly with another one of my passions - huge prog epics!  :hefdaddy :hefdaddy

Huge kudos to all involved and how many damn instruments can you play Marc?  :lol

When my stepson was a kid, he played OOT all the time. I remember watching, being completely mesmerized by the music.

I recognized a few themes. You guys did an amazing job. Fantastic performances all the way around.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

I don't even like Zelda

And I love this.
I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces
