I think TAC mentioned something about not being a fan of Haken being DT plus circus music, so I think something from Affinity was not a bad bet. Plus Affinity is my favourite Haken album. By miles.

Hey, as for Leprous, I listened to the song submitted; is there more in their catalogue like the part at 1:30 to about 1:50 (that was awesome; reminded me of something like The Panic Channel) but without the nonsense at 2:08?

I listen frequently to Triumphant but it lacks something, it seems still a working idea more than a finished song. After the epic part in the middle I don't have much desire to finish the song.
Red is my favourite, than I would put Moon and then Third Law\Lower. But I prefer all their other albums to that one apart Aeolia and Silent Waters.

Their discography is full of singing in falsetto if that's what you want! The part at 2:08 is unbelievable, second favourite moment of the song, only because the ending is even more unreal

OK, work's been a bitch, and will be for the next week. 11 hour days straight through next Wednesday, so I haven't been on much. But I HAVE been listening.

I've been digging into these songs, having heard all songs probably 6 times now. I am still shooting for results Friday night.

A few notes.

One song is separating itself from the pack.

Two people sent the same band. One song is clearly better than the other.

I found a number of songs too long. Not that being a long song in and of itself was the issue, but a few songs simply didn't know when to end. And I'm not talking about the longest songs. Some of the mid length songs took a decent song and simply lingered too long.
