« on: August 04, 2017, 12:36:48 PM »
The Theory of Everything (2013)

Round 1 Results:

Phase I: Singularity - 3 (33,3%)
Phase II: Symmetry - 2 (22,2%)
Phase IV: Unification - 4 (44,4%)

The number of people who predicted Phase IV: Unification would finish in the Top 3: 11 out of 13

Eliminated:

1.
2.
3.
4. Phase IV: Unification

Phase IV: Unification is out, and eleven participants instantly lose their potential points in the prediction contest! Just to satisfy your (and mine) curiosity, here's how many people predicted each phase to make it:

Phase I - 10
Phase II - 8
Phase III - 10
Phase IV - 11

So there's that. Anyway, let's do Round 2 now!

The deadline for this round is 72 hours.
This first band is Soen very cool swingy jazz fusion kinda stuff.

And I'm pretty sure that I'm one of two that hadn't Phase IV in their predictions.   :metal :metal :metal
Must've been Kwyji sending all the wrong songs.   ;D

Phase II is the best 20 minutes of music Ayreon has done. :/

Phase II is the best 20 minutes of music Ayreon has done. :/

I think Phase II has its moments, like the first few tracks (until The Rival's Dilemma), then it loses steam big time, but then it picks up again with Quantum Chaos, Dark Medicine, Alive and the last track where Mother assures Prodigy he's a genius (this is a fantastic moment which always gets me). However, the I think the whole track is disjointed and I dislike the Teacher/Girl parts, as well as Marco parts, as well as the "sharpen the mind, break open the cage" choruses in the beginning or whatever the lyrics are.

Phase 1 just doesn't have many standout moments imo

Whereas a lot of phase 4 is among the best and most memorable stuff on the album I'm baffled it's gone already lol

I would say Phase I is full of standout moments from the beginning to Love and Envy. Progressive Waves drops the ball a bit, but then the song once again gets amazing with The Teacher's Discovery (I think that's what it's called? The track with JB - Mills trade-offs) and stays amazing until the end.

Phase 4 has all the worst moments on the album imo, apart from the intro to Rudess's solo in Phase I which is the absolute lowest point.

This album's points in the predictions tournament is gonna be a major clusterfuck  :lol
I use my sig to pimp some bands from Italy! Check out Elvenking (Power / Folk metal), Folkstone (Rock / Medieval metal), Arcana Opera (Gothic/Noir/Heavy metal) and the beautiful voice of Elisa!
