QUEENSRYCHE PRE-SURVIVOR - ALBUM SURVIVOR

OK Guys, this is it  An idea given by MirrorMask during our thread discussion was about to run an album survivor before true surivor, which determines how many songs of each record will go into the finals. I picked it and decided to give it a chance, and I think that is a great idea, not only for Queensryche, but also for other survivors. Alright - the rules.

RULES OF QUEENSRYCHE ALBUM SURVIVOR

- Poll runs for 4 days, it will end at Thursday, 20th of July;
- We have 3 votes to pick our 3 favourite Queensryche albums;
- Queensryche EP 1983 will not be included here, it will be straight into casual survior with one best which goes into finals;
- Vote change after giving it, is not allowed;
- At the end, the amount of songs that will go into the finals from each album during normal survivor is:
1st place album - 5 songs + 1 consolidations
2nd place album - 4 songs + 1 consolidations
3rd place album - 3 songs + 1 consolidations
4th to 13th place album - 2 songs + 1 consolidations
0 votes albums - 1 song + 1 consolidations

First song below best songs of each album goes into consolidation.
That gives us - 32 songs in finals and 13 songs in consolidation

I've gone for the trilogy - RFO , O:M and Empire but that third spot could've gone to pretty much any of the pre-PL albums.

I haven't spent enough time with Condition Human but it's certainly my favourite post-Empire album and could be right up there fighting for 3rd spot eventually.  I would rarely say that about any recent release vs the "classics" so I suppose that says something.

That I don't agree with.  Queensryche's album discography is so clearly broken into three groups ... the great albums (which are getting votes); the not-so-great albums (which aren't getting votes); and the tripe albums (which only Adami voted for  ).

That doesn't mean that there aren't some gems in the not-so-great albums.  It would've been better if this had been run as a true survivor, where we vote for our least favorite, one at a time.

Having a Survivor with only 6 albums, and excluding 8 isn't quite in the spirit of what Survivor's are about.

How about a second survivor with all the albums that didn't get any votes? as a compromise between the initial choice of "Pick your three favorite albums" and the standard way of one vote at a time until there's only one album standing.

Agreed - I mean, St. Anger wasn't excluded in the Metallica survivor either, even though it's a pile of crap to a lot of fans. HITNF, Q2K and Tribe have their highlights, some of which I'd rank pretty high even amidst the classic stuff.

No offense, but that sounds like one of the dumbest ideas I've ever heard.  You're going to write off the self titled, Tribe and HITNF and not include them in the survivor at all??  If that's the case I won't participate because the whole thing will be a waste of time and pointless IMO.

But regardless why dont we utilize these album results to just include more songs in the finals from the most voted albums, but just include every single album in the discography for the survivor.  It will take a little longer, but it will avoid complications, make it complete and might be a tad funny with DTC and FU.  Have every album represented with at least one song in the finals.

Uhhh... didn't Adami already let everyone know he INADVERTENTLY voted for AS, DTC, and FU?  Yet, you're going to put 2 of those songs into the finals, while HITNF, s/t, Tribe and three others only get 1!?!?!  Wasn't that the whole point that we suggested (and liked) the idea of having an album survivor was to NOT BOTHER WASTING TIME with at least FU and DTC?

There were many opinions to be true and it would be impossible to satisfy everyone... I asked Adami about it, to let us know what albums did he want to pick, he doesn't answer. I was thinking yesterday when I posted 1st round to give a chance for 2 songs from every album with 0 votes, but I didn't want to break the rules. But everything is ahead of us and can be changed. No problem at all with bringing back 2 songs into finals from each album that get 0 votes (including also those 3 Adami wrong votes, I could just erase them )

I agree to your first point.  To your second, it should be painfully obvious which ones Adami voted for.

Look, ultimately it's your Survivor, so you can run it however you want.  I just assumed that by making some modifications to the traditional 'do-every-album-the-same' format, the intent was to weed out what is generally considered the truly shit music.
