Is there any TV or movie character that, even though you like to follow on the big or the small screen, you realize you'd never ever want to have anything to do with them should they be real, existing persons?

I'm not looking for *characters* you hate, just their "real persons" counterpart should they be actually real.

I'll start with some names...

Homer Simpson (The Simpsons) - I have a lifelong appreciation for The Simpsons, and Homer always crack me up, but his stupidity would be an hell to endure in real life. This was the entire point of one of their best episodes ever, the Frank Grimes one. I hope to never work with someone like Homer in real life  :lol

Sheldon Cooper (The Big Bang Theory) - absolutely a thrill to watch him live, and Jim Parson is amazing at potrraying him. But dealing for real with such a self absorbed narcisist, totally OCD borderline autistic? no thanks.

Rodrigo (Mozart in the Jungle) - as much as it's hilarous to see this young and charming director doing things in his own way, he's completely hammered the entire time, and needs to be followed around more than a child. I'm not so sure his talents and his general goodness, in real life, would be enough to make everyone forget of how much of a completely stoned wild card he is every moment he's awake.

Nick Miller (New Girl) - he's loveable and funny, and good hearted, yes... but he's completely immature, absurd, and very stubborn. I would find hard to put up with all his goofiness just because at times he's funny, someone so messed up would never be able to score the girls he gets throughout the series.

Sherlock Holmes, his latest Cumberbatch version (Sherlock Holmes) - the smartest man alive, and he damn well knows it, and loses no occasion to show it off. Well, if he were real, I'd probably never have to deal wit him 'cause he's such a recluse, but I don't know if I'd ever see the genius beneath the arrogance and contempt he would surely display.

I will probably think of more, feel free to add your lists of characters that you love, but as long as they stay in fiction and they never materialize as real persons  :lol

Walter White, Stringer Bell, Lorne Malvo, Vic Mackey, Al Swearengen & All the Lannisters.  - I'd probably end up dead, mostly likely betrayed first.

JL Picard - Insufferable self righteous bore.

Oh and the guy in my Profile pic.

Lorne Malvo

Well, depends on which persona he's portraying. He can be quite charming and reassuring, he managed to go undercover for six months and create a life as a respected dentist after all.

Bah. You're nitpicking.

 ;D

Nah, of course you're right, it's just that generally the explanation for why not wanting anything to do with any charming bad guy in the end it's the same... "he/she's gonna kill me". That's why I was thinking of a non-killing version of Malvo.

Good call on both, especially Jack Sparrow.

I was about to try and defend Tony Stark as well, but I realize that he probably would be an obnoxious a-hole all the time  :lol

Honestly, you can just say that about any Bill Murray role where he is a sarcastic wiseass (see: most of them).

But this thread is about great characters. :P I've never liked her.
Maybe Danny Reagan though. :lol

And I have no idea who most of these characters are or what they're from.
Only King could mis-spell a LETTER.
Yep. I think the only party in the MP/DT situation that hasn't moved on is DTF.

I feel like........most of them? Most characters are so heightened in their portrayals that I imagine they'd get very tiring very quickly in real life.

Great thread!

Motherfucking Rustin Cohle.

Brilliant, depressed, occasionally deranged, macabre, meticulous... and 100% annoying as all hell in real life. I think five minutes into meeting him, even if he was investigating your own case, I'd be telling him to shut the fuck up and to forget about my murdered *whoever*.  :lol

Great call! he's an awesome character and TJ Miller does wonders with him, but yeah, should he exist, please let me be as far away from him as I can.

I forgot someone I wanted to put in my original list: Lucifer, from the show named after him.

It's hilarious to watch him but were he real, his partner would have already shot him between the eyes a dozen times, his charisma and good looks work well only on the screen, otherwise he's so annoying and egomaniacal that he makes Tony Stark look humble  :lol

I wanted to agree at first, but now it makes me slightly sad because I share his same sarcasm and capacity for one-liners, although with more puns... which I imagine makes me even more unbearable.

I'd rather put up with a Phoebe over a Monica any day.
