Anyone follow these guys?  One of the best modern rock/metal bands around IMO with a fantastic sound.  Corey is such a stellar vocalist.  The new album Hydrograd I'm really looking forward too and the two songs released are amazing.

I'm pretty sure it won't top House of Gold and Bones, but I'm still hyped.

Yes, great band and I'm really looking forward to this. House Of Gold And Bones has been great, hope they can keep the qualitiy. And Corey's the man  :metal :metal :metal

New stuff sounds good so far. None of it sounds like it will be on the level of House of Gold and Bones, but I kind of expected that to be their pinnacle anyway. So long as their new stuff is good, I'm happy.

And yea, Corey is an insanely talented dude. I just wish he would stop hyping albums the way he does.

I only heard their debut, which is when it came out. Never heard them live as they haven't came here.

I think their debut is the only album of theirs that I don't listen to. It's not.........bad, but it's not great.

I love stone sour and have been listening to them since day one. Haven't heard any of the single they released but should be good. I actually love all their albums but probably House of Gold albums are my absolute favorite. I love how well produced they are.

Come Whatever May was my introduction to the band and therefore I still hold that recordin high regard. Probably my favorite closely followed by House Of Gold And Bones. The debut is strong as well but Audio Secrecy was sadly and surprisingly only mediocre.

Come Whatever May sounds good - which is a rarity for Nick Raskulinecz.

House of Gold & Bones Pt. 1 and Come What(ever) May are Stone Sour's best records for me. I thought Pt. 2 fell a little flat, but it was still good. The first one and Audio Secrecy...eh. Some decent songs. The latter is redlined so bad it hurts to listen to all the time. I saw them on that tour, and the end of the CWM tour as well. Good gigs.

I am going to get the new record. Haven't listened to anything. Wife was concerned they were going to go too poppy. But I guess we'll see.

Looking forward to the new album.  :metal

House 1 and 2 are their creative peak for me, fantastic albums, especially the first part. And to think I thought they will never be able to surpass Come what(ever) may. Amazing band. So far I haven't had the opportunity to see them live, but that will change at some point.

Favorite songs, anyone? Mine in chronological order:

Bother
Idle hands
30-30-150
Through glass
1st person
Say you'll haunt me (I used to find it overrated, though)
RU486
Last of the real
'82
Do me a favor

If nothing else, this new album will really be a good demonstration of what they can do without Jim.

I'm in the minority actually and Audio Secrecy is my fav from them, but not by much.  I think it's the melodic rock side of me taht thought it was brilliant, great songs IMO from start to finish.

Audio Secrecy is a solid album when I'm in the mood.

Stalemate is their best song by far.

I think it got so much undeserved criticism.  I guess people just weren't expecting the change in style.

It's not that it's bad, it's just not up to par with the rest of their discography, imo.

Jim barely wrote anything for Stone Sour as far as I know.

House of Gold and Bones is a masterpiece. The 2 new songs didn't impress me, and sounded like they would fit on Audio Secrecy. Speaking of, AS isn't bad, but compared to their other albums, it's probably my least favorite.

Yeah, I always liked Stone Sour. Loved them as a young teen, then kinda lost interesest, and the interest came back with a bang when they released House of Bones and Gold. I like the new songs, looking forward to the album. And I still have to check out those cover EP's they did recently.

I really got into Stone Sour a couple years ago. Before that I had always written them off based on what I heard on the radio. That was a mistake. Really looking forward to the new album.

I have Meanwhile in Burbank... and it's a pretty fun listen. I have absolutely no interest in the songs from Straight Outta Burbank, so I haven't checked that one out.

Looking at the tracklists, Meanwhile definitely has the better track list. But interested to have a listen to both.

Another track.  One with a very weird name.  "Taipei Person/Allah Tea"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MMoxuInvEtU&ab_channel=StoneSour

It's ok enough,  I didn't like it as much as Song #3 or Fabuless though.  Still excited for the album though.

Got my copy.  Listening for the first time but in the background, but sounding promising.

EDIT:  Apologies, I didn't know there already was a Stone Sour thread.  I did a search and nothing came up.  just realised I've posted in the other one also haha.  Mods feel free to merge if it's an issue.

Have listened to it yesterday while doing other things, but what I heard sounded good. My first impression is that it's not as strong as House Of Gold & Bones but it's probably too early to tell.

I made it about 2/3 the way through the album and had to turn it off.

This album is just so. damn. generic sounding.

The songs just had no identity, the music was really boring (with a few exceptions) and Corey just sounded like he was making fun of a genre with his lyrics, but he wasn't.

Although I'm not (yet?) really into this record I don't have a problem listening to it all the way through. Lyrics don't bother me, I seldom listen to them and even if, I rarely understand what's going on and I don't find it that generic, Stone Sour was never avantgarde or groundbreaking so I didn't expect anyhting else.
