I'll go with Yes 90125, Owner of a Lonely Heart.  It was the highest charting single but my least fave on the album.  But maybe that is in hindsight because of the 10,000 times I heard it on the radio.
Same thing with Big Generator. The title track is the worst song on the album.

I think Owner is by far the best song on that otherwise pretty mediocre album..

I actually do not agree with that, Elite.  Under a Glass Moon, as great as it is, is I&W's least best song, IMO.

Okay, fair enough. For the record, I think Pull Me Under is a great song and a great lead single as well. It's my 'least favourite' from the album, but that doesn't say a lot. Images & Words is still my favourite album of all time and all songs would be in my DT Top 50. Oh, and Under a Glass Moon is a top 15 DT song for me.

Well, let's be honest, being the least best song on I&W is like being the least hottest supermodel at a gathering of the hottest supermodels on the planet.  :tup :tup

90125 is money from start to finish.  Owner is one of the better tracks, although Changes and Heart are the tops for me.

We're Not Gonna Take It from Stay Hungry (Worst song, yes)
Leader of the Pack from Come Out and Play (Never really listened to this album, but yes, the song sucks)
Round and Round from Out of the Cellar (BY FAR the best track on the album)
Smoking in the Boys Room from Theater of Pain  (Definitely not the worst. TOP is half suckage anyway)
Cold Blood from Blow My Fuse (Never heard the album)

Heck, almost any classic hair metal album.

Are you saying these are the best or the worst?

Cold Blood is the only good song on that Kix album imo. One of the worst glam metal albums I ever listened to.

I don't know many lead singles from band's albums, but I do know Dream Theater's very well obviously, so:

Black Clouds & Silver Linings

Coldplay - Yellow. I discovered them with that song and I ended up liking all the other tracks better.

Porcupine Tree - Shallow. Although I really digged it when it came out. It sounds dated to my ears now. Lazarus sounds like a Keane song, but a rather good one.

Good call, I think I would call it the worst song on there. The other ballads are all better. I like the jazzy When I First Kissed You and Hole Hearted among the album's better songs. Song For Love is closer to the bottom, but I give it a slight edge to MTW.

Although, we're talking lead singles which is the first one released right? Decadence Dance came first and that song is awesome.

Not sure about when something is considered a lead single but here are some I can think of:

Coldplay: Viva la Vida - Viva la Vida (I did just hear this particular song too often perhaps)
Lorde: Pure Heroine - Royals (same as Viva la Vida)
Mastodon: Emperor of Sand - Show Yourself
Pain of Salvation: In The Passing Light of Day - Reasons

Show Yourself is one of the best tracks wtf

Iron Maiden - El Dorado

While I like this song more than some people it is one of my least favorites from the album. I think The Alchemist would've been a much better first single.
Do you read Sutter Cane?

I thought El Dorado was a good single. It was the first time in years we heard the classic Maiden gallop. Love that song. Alchemist is cool too though.

Wildest Dreams from DoD was a poorer choice for lead single IMO. I would've gone with Rainmaker or maybe even Montsegur. Also Reincarnation Of Benjamin Breeg from AMOLAD. Great tune but I remember it being more of a grower. It was a bold choice for a first single but maybe not the best to build hype for a new album.

Cold Blood is the only good song on that Kix album imo. One of the worst glam metal albums I ever listened to.

Blow My Fuse is a very OK album by a band who (IMO) was the most underappreciated hair metal band of the time.   Their self-titled debut is downright perfect...(and *after* you hear the studio version of their masterpiece "Yeah Yeah Yeah"...you then have to hear the live version from Kix Live which was recorded at a sold out show at the University of Maryland.  Modern day live versions sound much more wooden and rehearsed, but *that* live version was PERFECT.  They were just on fire that night).   The follow up "Cool Kids" was some great, some not so great.  And then 1985's Midnight Dynamite *should* have been their breakthrough.   Just a freakin phenomenal album.   I had very high hopes for Blow My Fuse.   Especially after hearing a much rawer version of "Ring Around Rosie" on the Johnny B. Goode Soundtrack album.   But Blow My Fuse ended up being way too polished.  There were a couple of standouts....the title track was good.  But on the whole, I never listen to it.    The follow up "Hot Wire" was better.   But by that time, grunge had hit and no one cared.

TLDR version.   Get the self titled and Midnight Dynamite before you pass judgement.   Highlight tracks: The Itch,The Kid, Yeah Yeah Yeah, Kix Are For Kids, Red Hot Black and Blue, Bang Bang Balls of Fire, Cold Shower, Lie Like a Rug.

Kix is a dreadfully underrated band, and Steve Whiteman is one of the greatest frontmen in all of hair metal.   (he's kindof a goof ball, but I think that makes him a great showman)

Least best on their respective albums.   Round and Round is a great song, but I would take any other track from that album over it.  Out of the Cellar may be the greatest "hair metal" album top to bottom ever recorded.  Every song on that album is nearly a 10.  It was one of those albums where all 10 tracks had a turn at being "my favorite".

I'll take your word for it. I don't dislike glam metal but Blow My Fuse put me off of Kix big time. Even Cold Blood doesn't do much for me.

Was Shine the lead single for Transatlantic's Kaleidoscope? If it was, then this album surely fits the description.

It's not the best but it's far from the worst.

My least fave song on DT12 is easily Surrender To Reason or Illumination theory.
