Your Favorite Album from 1977 - REDUX
« on: October 30, 2023, 06:04:36 PM »
Well...a couple of terribly glaring omissions the first time, so let's try this again:

Lots of choices.  I could have extended the list, but 20 options is enough.  What'cha got?

Still went with Rush - AFTK. Lots of other good choices here though, like Yes, Pink Floyd, Kansas, Queen, and Styx.

And while I wouldn't consider it the best of 1977, I have recently gotten into the Dixie Dregs, and their debut album Free Fall came out this year. Also gotta shout out to ELP's Works albums.

For me, the additions don't really help.  I find little that was appealing in the releases this year.

This one was easy!

1. AC/DC-Let The Be Rock
2. UFO-Lights Out
3. Thin Lizzy-Bad Reputation
4. Alice Cooper-Lace And Whiskey
5. Kiss-Love Gun
6. Scorpions-Taken BY Force
7. Styx- The Grand Illusion
8. Aerosmith-Draw The Line
9. Rush-A Farewell To Kings
10. Riot-Rock City
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

Animals, with Rumours and Bat out of Hell completing the podium. '77 is my 3rd favourite year for releases, behind' 73 and '71.

The Grand Illusion gets the nod this time.

Followed closely by, A Farewell to Kings, Aja, Point of Know Return and Draw the Line.

Between Kansas, Rush & Styx.  Kansas by a hair.

Looking like this might be the first of these polls with a close fight for the #1 spot.

I ended up going with The Grand Illusion myself, but it was REALLY hard not to chose A Farewell to Kings.  A 1a/1b situation if ever there were one.
