I've only seen one episode, because it was included on another boxset as a promo, and didn't much care for it. The Hoff was too deadpan and flat, and KITT was just rigged to the point of sucking the fun out of it.
But I still like the principle of it.

In the beginning the show's setup was cool, as KITT took the role of the usual detective partner, but with some unique abilities. IIRC, later on those abilities increased continuously, and often were used as a Deus ex machina.

Michael Knight's evil twin was also a bit ... silly.

Back then I thought it was silly and it hasn't changed in the meantime. Imo the only good thing that Hoff ever did was his appearance in the spongebob movie.

I seem to remember an episode of Knight Rider where KITT got totalled and they re-built him with new brakes - which were flaps that opened up on the body.

Also a Semi called Garth or Goliath ?

I was around 9 years old at the time.
