Insurance called me this morning and said because I had liability on my previous car, that's the coverage that extended to my new car and I'd be responsible for the damages.

Four hours later they called me and said if I paid the difference between liability and full coverage today, they'd pay the claim. I paid the difference and I'm looking at a 500 dollar deductible. I'm so happy I could cry. I almost did.

Dude.....so happy for you. What a relief!

Fantastic news!
Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

This. That's extraordinarily lucky for you. Very happy it worked out for you.

What insurance company do you use?
I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

Seriously, if that's not a recommendation, I don't know what is.  They did not have to do this.

Farmers. They just earned my loyalty for life. They bent over backwards for me.

Shit. Farmers has already lost any possibility of me using them due to how they jerked my other half around after someone (their client) rear ended her car and totaled it.

I'm sure it varies from agent to agent. Definitely going to send mine a long hand-written "thank you" note.

An Insurance Agent doing someone a solid?  Yeah, that just earned free recommendations and life-long customer.

Glad it turned out that way.  Still sucks to have to be in an accident on day 1 of a new vehicle.

A good agent makes all the difference. I was never loyal to Allstate, but a local agent insured the 21 year old Barto's 280Z at a very reasonable price when nobody else would go near it and earned a tremendous amount of loyalty. When he retired the new agent just wasn't the same and I was gone within a year.

Funny how that works out.  You'd think some of these things would be more set in stone, but they aren't.  Agents can work with people and you can get a better deal than just submitting a form online.  No one would insure my home when I purchased as it's about a mile from the Jersey shore and a year earlier Sandy flooded a lot of the area (not anywhere near my house, but Sandy did enough damage to make insurers not interested in working with me) but after many calls to different companies, I finally found an agent who didn't work directly with an insurer, who was able to get me a deal with Travelers which lowered my rate on my car and got me something affordable on my house.  I was amazed how nice the guy was and how easy he was able to make things work when everyone else said they couldn't.  I also get a hand written note every year during the holidays from them.  This is MassDrive FYI.
