Probably about time to watch There's Something About Mary again. The BMUBC video at the end is stellar, and exactly how closing credits should be done.

Eh, humor is a personal thing, so to each their own. However, it's not highly enough regarded to actually be overrated. 7.1 on IMDB. 83% on Rotten Tomatoes. Ebert gave it 3 stars. I know more people that hate it than like it. Considering how funny I think it is, I could make a better case that it's underrated.

I'm surprised it's rated so low. I'm the only person I've ever met that didn't think it was a great movie.

All good. I had heard so much about it, and I remember thinking how not funny it was.

I thought it was decent, not great. I can't stand Ben Stiller. He's one of the least funny people I've ever seen try to do comedy. Joe Pesci does better comedy in a dramatic role. Ben and his buddy Owen Wilson - not funny.

I don't necessarily think it's overrated. When it came out it was a big deal, but it has not stood the test of time. It's an average movie with an average cast.

Ben Stiller isn't that funny in it, but he's not really supposed to be.  He is, more or less, the straight man upon whom all of the hilarity happens around.  Matt Dillon is hysterical in that flick, and the supporting cast is damn good (Chris Elliot, the guy that plays Tucker, etc.).  So many classic lines in that flick.  Overrated?  No way.  My brother and I saw it in the theater when it first came out, and the whole place was roaring with laughter throughout.

Honestly, the only movie I've seen where Stiller actually is really funny was Dodgeball, and that was largely because he was playing such a ridiculous character.

Tucker was the one that killed me. When he switches from the high-brow Brit to the hick accent it's priceless. Most of the tertiary characters are great, as well. Mary's folks. The two cops. Magda. While the writing isn't all that great, there are a ton of classic, over the top gags in there. The zipper accident, Mary with the "hair gel," any scene with the dog, the cops beating the shit out of Stiller, the singer/narrator. Great stuff. Young Frankenstein it's not, but it's still damn fine work.

Really dislike that movie, and Ben Stiller in general.  My favorite role for him was in Dodgeball.  He was playing the villain, so it was OK to watch the movie and hate him at the same time.
Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

I absolutely cannot stand Owen Wilson.

I'm used to him as Lightning McQueen, but other than that, he's just horrible.

If I didn't have kids, I would've seen it none times.

It has a great ending though.

I love the song "This Is The Day" by Ivy and the montage with it.
"I don't know nuttin about nuttin" - Marshawn Lynch

The very soul of what was once real music is now lost in a digital quagmire of emotionless sonic madness.

Not for me.  I like most of Disney/Pixar's output, for sure, but the Cars franchise is bottom of the barrel.  By a long way.

Yip.

And from what I hear - Cars 2 isn't much better...
