A true legend.  Unquestionably one of the most influential musicians to the rock genre ever.

Someone on Reddit mentioned that Johnny B. Goode was included on the Voyager Record. Someone else commented:

Quote
Johnny B. Goode is a partly autobiographical song where an illiterate country boy dreams of having his name in lights. Who knew his name would end up in the stars?

But a very sick, perverted man.
...going along with Dragon Attack's Queen thread has been like taking a free class in Queen knowledge. Where else are you gonna find info like that?!

But in December 1959, he was arrested under the Mann Act after allegations that he had sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old Apache waitress, Janice Escalante,[30] whom he had transported across state lines to work as a hatcheck girl at his club.

So sayeth the wikky.

He was known for basically being a peeping tom, spying on girls in the bathroom of his restaurant.

Anyway, I used to go to Blueberry Hill pretty often but never got around to catching one of his weekly shows, I always just figured I'd get to it later. :(

Without him it's highly possible none of the music I listen to would have ever existed. RIP

The clip of him and John Lennon and Yoko Ono doing "Memphis Tennessee" is classic, on every level.  Including the look Chuck gives to John when Yoko lets out this screeching squirrel-like sound about midway through.  ;)

Check out Springsteen's facial expression. You know someone is huge when it makes another star star-struck.

Went to a local Frank Hannon gig here in town on Saturday night, and he dedicated his set to Chuck and started it off with Johnny B. Goode.  It has become so cliché to cover that song that most rock musicians nowadays will avoid it, but it was perfect in this setting.
