1. Terminator 2, without a doubt.
2. True Lies
3. Terminator

He also made other movies.

Personally I think the answer is quite obvious - Terminator 2. Aliens would be a close second but I think overall, Terminator 2 to me - defined the Terminator franchise whereas Aliens (as good as it was) didn't reach the same level of significance for the Alien franchise IMO. True Lies and the first Terminator were also great, can't say I care for the rest.

I remember seeing Titanic at the cinema back in the day and honestly I wept like a child when Jack drowned. I think it's a beautiful movie and the production behind it was amazing at the time. Both Terminator 2 and Aliens are classics and I have a hard time put one over the other. Seting my personal opinion aside, I think Terminator 2 is the right answer. The Abyss is also a cool movie, come to think of it as i'm been playing Subnautica alot lately I might revisit that movie since I haven't seen it in ages.

1. Terminator 2
2. Aliens
3. The Abyss

Ok here's one...

Which is the best terminator sequel ?

I mean they're all pretty bad - but Genisys was ok up til a point. Arnie was great in it. Rise of the Machines was decent apart from the opening cheese fest but Salvation was mostly dull

so i'll say that one.

You mean best terminator sequel after 2? Cause I can't imagine the conversation going too far otherwise.

I dunno, they were all pretty meh. Genysis was awful, despite Arnold being cool. The one with Claire Danes was meh, and Salvation was.....I dunno, I guess it was okay?

Yes - best sequel after 2.

Only internet trolls could possibly think anything other than Judgement Day was the best of the 4 sequels.

" lol T2 was the most overrated one. then 2nd worse it was rise of the machines coz it had a chick terminator ffs. salvation is the best 1 coz it has batman in nuff said "

I can imagine this.

Ghosts of the Abyss isn't really a feature film though. It's more of a doc about diving isn't it ?

It's funny that he made Titanic kind of on-the-side when what he really wanted to do was explore the wreckage.

I'm probably wrong but the studio said "we'll pay for your expeditions but you have to make us a movie..."

That movie was Titanic.

As I said i may be remembering completely wrong.

As far as the Terminator discussion, I think Genysis and Salvation are tied for being generally boring and predictable sprinkled with moments of cool. Genysis probably edges it out for at the very least trying to hearken back to the golden days. Salvation was just painful at times, especially since I usually like Bale and he was outright boring as well.

Which is the best terminator sequel ?

I mean they're all pretty bad - but Genisys was ok up til a point. Arnie was great in it. Rise of the Machines was decent apart from the opening cheese fest but Salvation was mostly dull

so i'll say that one.

1 and 2 I bow down and worship. 3, 4 and 5 are abominations as far as I am concerned.

3 poorly rips of 2's plot and while shitting on the entire philosophy of the whole series and that I live my life by, "there's no fate but what we make for ourselves". The soundtrack is non-present. Like what the hell, the whole car chase is dead silent, and you don't even hear the terminator theme until the end credits. The soundtrack of 1 and 2 were monumentally important to the films and brought power and emotion to the scenes. Sarah conner dies off screen and is lame. The t-800 is turned into a buffoon with the "talk to the hand" stuff and him wearing the corny sunglasses at the beginning. 3 is the one I really do not like.

Salvation shoots the whole damn thing during the day for some reason with no plasma riffles. Felt absolutely nothing like what was set up by cameron. anton yelchin was a great actor, but terribly miscast as Kyle.  Reese is a broken, traumatized and fierce badass. I got no sense of that what so ever in salvation. The tone of the future in that film was so wildly off. Salvation was a swing and a miss.

Genesys is I guess least offensive. It wants so bad to pay respect to the originals but is another huge swing and a miss. And again the reese character is played very different that what cameron created. The beginning future scenes are very cool and recapture the feel of how they were presented in 1 and 2. I wish they would have just kept the whole thing in the future, because once they went back in time, it went WAY off the rails and just turned into fan fiction honestly. And what on earth they were thinking, spoiling things in the trailer? geez

3 I strongly dislike. 4 and 5 I just kind of ignore. And 1 and 2 I will love and enjoy until the day I die.

If I was Jim Cameron - i'd always allow more sequels..

- He gets a royalty for writing the first two and using his names and characters etc.

- The more rubbish sequels that are made - the more people will say his were the best and can't be topped.

it's win/win for him really.

When he gets the right back next year - I hope he either does nothing with it - or continues to let shitty sequels be made for the reasons I listed above.

Unless he goes on record as saying one of the awful sequels is great and captures the spirit of the originals and loses a lot of credibility.

1. ALIENS
2. T2
3. Terminator
4. The Abyss
5. True Lies
6. Titanic

Aliens and T2 are easily his best. Terminator gets as high as it does because of nostalgia and its classic status. The Abyss MIGHT be the better film, I'm not sure as I haven't watched it near as much. The Abyss is great until the kinda dumb ending. True Lies is fun but feels like Cameron is just making his own big, dumb action movie. Titanic is good, I actually kind of like it, just not enough to watch it again. Once was enough. Haven't seen the others.

I actually don't know what to choose. It would be one of Avatar, Aliens, or T2. Can't really say which I enjoy the most. Haven't seen The Abyss though and am unlikely to (the the "what are your fears" thread for why).

As for best Terminator sequel beyond 2, I actually like Salvation. I don't know why, I just always have. So that's my pick.

Aliens.
Terminator.
True Lies.
Terminator 2.
Titanic.
The Abyss
Avatar.

As for the Terminator sequels.  I actually like T3 so that wins by a country mile, cool ending too.  Salvation is boring and Genisys just shits all over it's legacy.  Jai and Emila as Reese and Sarah Connor is insulting.

I legitimately don't know how any guy can live almost 30 years and not have seen Terminator 2. It completely boggles my mind. How is this even possible? I wouldn't even admit to such a high level of movie ignorance. Even if you lived under a rock, there's a good chance a T800 endoskeleton would have crushed the rock with its foot and shot you in the face with a laser in that time.

Yeah, that is fine to get. The key thing is that you are able to see 1 and 2. I think you will enjoy 2 quite a bit. I saw T2 first, and everything still turned out fine. I actually didn't see part 1 until a few years later. Its not like seeing empire before a new hope or anything. Some people find part 1 to be dated, so you might not like it all that much. I worship it though

When you do watch part one, please just look it from the perspective of it coming out in 1984. For its time, it was pretty incredible.
