Noiiice. The last few have been great.

What interests me is how people can have the same provider, and I get that areas and usage dictates quite a large margin of data allowance, but man...there's people in my area with Xfinity that can't get 3 MB/s. On the same token, there's people that live in the city where there's fiber and have AT&T that don't get 1 MB/s while Reap tears down the internet with his.  :lol

Reap is very lucky.  Google fiber is awesome for consumers.  Just sucks that it didnt work out for google and they aren't going to expand anymore.  Getting a 1G connection to your home is not at all normal in the US.

When I heard fiber was available in our area when we were picking out providers for our new home I glossed over it at first because we had a FIOS in Tampa and the speeds didn't exceed 300Mb/s but when I heard it was a 1g connection I was ecstatic, moreso when the speed is actuality close to advertised.

That's typically the case with fiberoptics.  You aren't sharing a line like a cable modem where the speed depends on who else is watching porn on your street.
