I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

I'm at the job I was at.


Ok so was working with the security company I am with now until April of last year. Got picked up working a desk job with the county. Worked there until October. Didn't pass my probation.

I went from there back to the security job. Where I am now. I was a lead when I left the security company. When I came back, I started back as a regular guard, then promoted back up to lead. Then I was promoted in July to Assistant Post Supervisor (as my supervisor was fucking up big time). Now today it looks like he is putting in his 2 week notice, so I am going to get his position. I will be running the account, with about 15 or so employees working under me.

Oh ok, I thought you made mention of possibly going back to the job that you were working on where you didn't pass probation.

Pay increase is going to happen. It's going to be a decent jump hourly compared to what I make now.

And regarding the first part of what you said, I was basically told that one of the supervisors at my old job wants me to come back, but I'd have to go through an entire screening and hiring process IF a job ever came up.

Holy mother of Mary did jingle.son bring home a nasty virus.  Both of us have a bad throat infection... which for me is usually 100% guaranteed to go south into my chest.  Fortunately, I was able to see my Doc yesterday, and get some anti-biotics.  Still, brutal night - didn't sleep more than 45 minutes without having a hacking fit.  Did a 'solid' for mrs.jingle by sleeping on the couch so I didn't keep her awake (or get her sick), and I just fucking ache everywhere.  Jingle.son was getting better on his own, but wakes up this morning in the same shape I'm in.  Our doc isn't in the office today, so he has to wait until tomorrow to get meds.

Good morning.  Im still feeling messed up in my head from working till 5am the other day.  I slept good last night too, but my head feels like gel.  Anyway, had a big conversation with my boss yesterday.  Finally told him how I feel about not getting a promotion this past year and how I haven't been handed any major projects this year and it felt like I wasn't going anywhere.  Well now I am going to Denver first week of October by myself for a week and have major work to do and the boss man says my timer has started to impress for getting the promotion next year.  Game on

I actually did suggest that to Mrs.jingle.  But she's not sure if he usually gets the same anti-biotics as I do, so she said he could wait 24 hours and suck it up.  Plus, he hasn't done anything 'extra' (inhaler, nose spray, vitamins, gargling etc..) to help his cause, so if he wants to suffer through it, let him.

Mrs.jingle was in a foul mood today in case you couldn't tell.

Just had a small world moment. I was waiting for my sandwich shop that is near my office when a guy asked what my name is. I told him, turns out he is the husband of my ex’s best friend, they lived in Florida and by chance moved to Charlotte the same time as I did. I haven’t spoken to him or his wife since my ex and I broke up over three years ago.

Yup. Promotion is Official. The emails have been sent out to my team, as well as the email to HR (both from the owner of the company). Effective October 1st.  I'm already making a list of changes (minor) that I'd like to roll out to make the lives of my team as well as my own easier. Some of the slightly larger changes I want to make already have the backing of my leads. Now I've got to get a few days of shadowing the outgoing supervisor in (meaning Overtime for me... woot).

I'm loving the feedback in the thread I made regarding management.  I'm already setting up a rough list / schedule of tasks for myself for the days / weeks /  months.
