I took it off half way through.

Florida and Georgia were easy drives. South Carolina is where drivers go full retard.

Really good. The band seemed a little more enthusiastic than the sets I saw on the cruise. Was also cool that Mike Portnoy came out and played drums on Ashes.

Morning guys.

I learned Saturday night that the loudest noise on Earth is 16,000 teenage girl screaming at the top of their lungs.

Yeah, but I'm tired as hell.

Not only did I take my daughter to the show Saturday night, but my wife and I also led worship at our old church in Mount Airy Sunday morning as a favor to the music minister, who was out of town.  When we originally agreed to do that, we didn't realize that it was the same weekend as the concert.  :xbones

So, my wife (who wasn't attending the concert) drove straight to Mount Airy from Raleigh on Saturday afternoon (just over two hours driving time), got our hotel and stowed our stuff and my guitar, and went for a girls night out with some of her girlfriends.  She met them at a local winery/pub around 6:30, and was there until after midnight, and she went on to the hotel.

Meanwhile, my daughter and I left Raleigh for Greensboro (an hour and twenty minute drive) for the show.  Opening act goes on at 7pm, followed by a second opener.  Twenty One Pilots go on at 9pm, and the show is a solid two hours, most of which I am on my feet and my daughter is completely losing her shit (think footage of fans at Beatles concerts).  Due to the size of the crowd and inept crowd management, we make it to the hotel in Mount Airy around 1:15 am.

Have to get up around 5:30 am Sunday morning so everyone can shower/shave/get dressed and be at church for a 7:30 run-through of music.  Worship at 8:30 am.  And I am active when singing playing, I move a LOT, especially on uptempo songs.

We eventually get back home yesterday afternoon and I am completely worthless.

Made it to LA, whats up with the cloudiness here?  Not that it would matter, right to the basement data center I go, got a lot of work to do today and then the next two weeks should be a bit quieter while I am out here.

No idea you were out here.  I'll be around if you want to meet up.  Got the weekend off out here and should have all my evenings free, but no plans on anything besides good food.

This entire day has felt like one long episode of the Twilight Zone. Nothing feels "right" about it yet nothing is particularly wrong, either. It just feels horrendously weird.

What's everyone doing here all of a sudden?
I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

Hating employees that let their life affect their work.  I was supposed to have a 5 man crew tonight.  I'm down to 2.

One, I'm sick.

Supervisor picks up employee, I text him about box employee with same name will be late. He doesn't pick up employee.

Temp goes home sick. Starts out as a 5 man crew. Down to 2.

Tomorrow the kid that called out gets a final warning.  One more call out in the next 3 months and he will be fired.

Did I tell you weekend day guy did something to his back outside of work and missed half of his scheduledeath shifts and another has his son in the hospital the last 2 weeks and missed the same amount.

Then weekend nights, guys leaves early 2 out of 3 nights sick and another had a family emergency.

Yeah, no days off for this guy.
