Morning Reap.

I had some 3 pin extension cables arrive today for my case fans. The new fans I got for my PC case were really fucking noisy at full power, so I had to get extension cables to reach the motherboard headers, so now I can adjust the speed through the BIOS. Now it's as quiet as it was before, but the cooling is still good. The 1060 is idling at 20C today.

Rendering with the GPU? I haven't tried to fix it yet, because it wouldn't be worth the trouble to switch mid-project. Gonna do that as soon as I'm finished with the vid though. I'm really itching to push this card and see what it's capable of.

Howdy all. Good talk with my boss today, seems like there's a bit more work coming in the pipeline. Hopefully this means I can angle for a raise or promotion at year end, but I'd be happy even if I just get one or two cool trips out of it :lol

Sucks to be busy before the holiday.  They gave us Monday off as well plus Friday is a half day so I'm very much looking forward to an extra long weekend which has lead me to have little motivation to get my normal work done, but I'm slowly chipping away at it

I'll be working on Tuesday, albeit only from about 12-6, and doing so from my couch. I used to get both time and a half and an extra floating day (though it really should be one or the other), but now that I'm salaried I just get an extra floating day.

I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

Yesterday wasn't so bad. We deployed a massive software update Friday and there is a small subset of users experiencing account lock outs. We fixed the problem Tuesday but we had another user have a lock out issue yesterday so we thought we didn't fix the issue.

My boss blamed the new software, I read the logs did some testing, turns out it's a coincidence and it was the users phone causing the lock outs. I loved proving him wrong. He is a great guy but he likes to believe he is always right when it comes to technical issues and often time he is, always good to humble him a bit.
