G'morning everybody. Already looking towards the weekend as I'll be brewing for the first time since February. Going to do five gallons each on Saturday and Sunday.

Going to do five gallons each of a saison and a pale ale. The saison is the closest thing I have to a house recipe, and the pale is a malt/yeast framework that I've established that I play around with different hops/combos. Both should clock in around 5-5.5% and both will be ready to be kegged within two weeks or so.

In a month a very refreshing, drinkable beer.  Nice. More towards the sweet finish or a peppery finish?

Oh I'll probably be drinking the saison in two weeks, it's usually good to keg at ten days. Not too peppery, as I start the yeast on the low side. It also gets a bit (but not a ton) of Citra, I've found that this yeast strain and hop play well together. One of my friends actually used this recipe when his commercial brewery opened a couple years ago.

Good evening folks.

I'm current waiting for my boss to pick me up for this meeting.

I'm wearing a suite...  And tie..  For the second time in my adult life.

I also just wasn'm informed that my raise and my promotion are in place effective July 1st

Freakin sweet.
I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

I took a couple bathroom selfies. I also impressed him with how well I dressed (vs him). He is talking about wanting to make me full blown management one day (problem is... I live a a good 60 miles from the main office... and it still wouldn't be worth the commute.. but if we get more properties out here it would work)

The meeting went swimmingly btw

First day at work in almost 2 weeks and I am not feeling very motivated.  I'm working solo and still feel completely out of it from doing an insane amount of driving and walking last week.

That's the worst feeling in the world. I always take 14-16 days off at the end of December and that first day back always has me contemplating existence.

Yeah, the longer the vacation the more painful the first day back. I mostly take off 1-3 days at a time around weekends so it's not usually too bad.

Yeah there is a lot of personal customization. The owners are very much into personal expression and making work feel like a hangout, even if you're busy. The space is very open and casual, so it never really seems to feel stuffy. I am also a bit of a neat freak, so I try to keep my area as organized as I can, otherwise my brain descends into chaos.

We don't even really have cubes. We have large desks with small metal walls that allow us our own spaces without isolating the rest of the office, and there's enough open space that we aren't cramped. And to my right is the window wall. SUNLIGHT!
