Just finished lunch (leftovers - pork chops, green beans, corn), and leave work in less than an hour.

Taking my daughter to see her favorite band, Twenty One Pilots, tomorrow night.  Should be fun.
Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

I've seen so much stuff online about that band but I have not heard a single note, and can't really be arsed to look them up...what style are they?

Um...pop?

Basically, it's a two-man band.  One guy is the singer, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter, and the other guy is the drummer.  Most of their performances will apparently be to backing tracks (to fill out the sound from drum or whatever the other guy is playing).  Of course, when they played on Saturday Night Live, they just used a string quartet as their backup band, so there's that.

The biggest hit was a song called "Stressed Out" but I hate that crap.  My favorite well-known song of theirs is "Heathens", which was featured in the Suicide Squad film (probably best part of the film lol).  Another good one is "Heart of Gold".

They aren't great, and I wouldn't be going if it weren't for my daughter loving them so much, but it should be fun.

That must be cool to go to a concert with your child, even if the music is your favorite, just the idea your child even wants to go to a concert is awesome.

I desperately wanted to take Eric to see R40 because he fucking loves Rush, but he was 5 and loud noises aren't his thing. I think the amount of people and the volume, plus the timing would have been unbearable for him. I'm hoping to take him to shows in the future, it's just a shame that it likely will never be a Rush show. Though if they do a one-off performance in some accessible place, like NYC, you can bet your ass I'll be on a train to that show with him in tow.

Pain of Salvation right now, Remedy Lane.

Earlier this morning it was Ghost, followed by the LTE radio.

Yea I mean 5 seems a bit young.  It's funny, I don't recall how old I was besides very young, but I know my parents took me a Madonna concert as a child and we sat on the lawn and I have no other memories besides sitting on the lawn for some concert (it wasn't till later I learned it was a Madonna concert  :lol)

I love Remedy Lane so, so much. I'm digging the new album some, but I think it'll but hard for Daniel to ever top RL for me.

Do you think the Frankenstein references were too subtle in this week's Grimm? :lol Just in case naming the scientist Victor Shelley wasn't enough, they had him quote "He's alive!" too for good measure.

I've got a coworker who has been pacing back and forth behind me in the office for half an hour.  This guy is already fucking stupid to the point where he makes me angry...  Now he's full blown pissing me off.  It's taking so much of my willpower not to turn and tell him to go fuck off.
I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

Weakest episode this year.

You're probably right, although I still enjoyed it. No Dianna, and besides Eve and the mirror deal, no major progression of the story on their end, and only a small isolated thing with Renard finding out a bit more.
After the first couple of episodes, I was hoping they'd be done with the procedural cop aspect and be more full on with the story line.

They always have that one episode that doesn't further the plot enough.  This was the one. That's ok, they'll bounce right back.

Did last week's further the plot? I considered that a filler episode too, but it was a lot of fun.

No it did not but good sows have that one really different fun episode that's a ton of fun.  Plus with such a serious show that was a ton of fun.

Crap.

And I just realized that the date that the cloth drawing/map corresponds to is actually the airing date of the second last episode. I don't know if that date was supposed to be when the finale airs or whether it's correct for the second last episode, but it obviously means big shit is going down soon!
