Last fall, during a hellacious wind storm, my little car was struck by a flying turn lane sign that had been ripped from its post. It completely destroyed the passenger side mirror.



The body shop quoted $1,200.00 to replace it. I wasn't willing to spend that much for 2003 car with 150,000 miles on it so I went on Ebay and found a used one for $140.00. I don't drive this car during the winter (my 4-wheel drive truck is much safer) so it sat in this condition for three months.

Last Saturday was really nice so I pulled the car out of the garage and replaced the mirror.



It looks all sexy again.  :)

Once the replacement part arrived it was pretty obvious what needed to happen. Fortunately, Mercedes expects that things like this will need to be replaced so there is some forethought engineered into the door panel. It allows easy access to the screws holding the assembly in place. The job literally took me 15 minutes, which included time for me to be all anal and thoroughly clean the exposed areas.

That's how I feel about my BMW. I'm going to buy a new car for my birthday later this year. I'm just getting too many issues. My rear struts need to be replaced, driver door lock, tires, brakes.

"Spring" cleaning is in full force here.  jingle.girls are working on the upstairs - Mrs pulled apart the hall cabinet which was filled with a metric shit-ton of medicines and such.  What a mess.  They also pulled apart all the drawers / shelves in the upstairs bathroom (which is the "girls" bathroom).

I've been working on my den... Now off to the continued cleansing of the basement.

Who the hell knows what jingle.son has done.

It's only one hard drive, and it's only ~400GB out of a 2TB drive. I cleared out a bunch of files the other day.

Indeed it was - sad (or sick)!  :lol  I didn't even know what the hell you guys were trying to sing until the last 2 seconds!  You guys are hardcore though... with the cymbal attachments for the drums.
