People who can't follow simple directions and/or requests.

Case in point: I went to Quiznos earlier after my workout and ordered my usual sandwich, and even though I only go there once or twice a month now (cause it is somewhat out of the way for me now), the manager still knows that I like it extra done, so he will run it through twice or slow it down (if it is slow and there is no one behind me).  Anyway, he told the guy working how I like it, and what does the guy do?  He slows it down, but then as he stands there on other side waiting for it, he peers in and then speeds up and grabs it as fast as he can, obviously so he can get it done and get back to playing on his phone. I rolled my eyes and didn't say a word.  Then, he asks if I want anything else on it, and I specifically say, "Just a little bit of lettuce," and he proceeds to grab a big enough handful that it would fill a large salad bowl.  Idiot.  :lol

I once figured out how to get free cookies at Subway whenever I wanted...

There were several Subway in Reading so I never tried it at the same place two times in a row.

All you had to do was keep the receipt of any Subway and memorise the shop code ( usually 4 numbers )

Then go to tellsubway.co.uk and fill out their customer satisfaction survey. you could literally make up the time and date as it accepted anything.

Then they'd email you a code for a free cookie :lol

I thought you were about to say you gave them horrible reviews just to get free stuff, and I was gonna have to get all pissy with you. :lol

Haha nah I wouldn't be like that.

I had no qualms about free cookies though. They're a corporation so a few cookies here and there mean nothing to them...

I can't remember how long ago it was, but I used to go a Subway by where I lived to the point where the employees remembered me and eventually just started giving me like 3-4 free cookies every time I bought a sandwich.

Those were good times.

Ah . Cookies.

Incidentally - what sandwich did you get ?

I either got Meatball Marinara on Hearty Italian or Spicy Italian BMT with southwestern sauce :)

Off topic question. Do you eat chicken or fish? Or is it a very strict vegetables only diet? I've heard of some folks that will do the chicken/fish thing, and some that won't.

Neither. I don't do any meat or fish but I eat mostly non veggies. Though I guess if pizza is a vegetable, I'm a fan.

Mildly irritating bordering on "fucking come on, dude" is people just leaving shopping carts laying in a parking spot. I don't understand how someone can just finishing unloading their bags and not drop the cart into one of the many cart corrals in the lot. It just seems like the epitome of obliviousness I see when people within the grocery store just cruise around with their cart and almost hit you as if they're the only one in the store accompanied with the blank stare if they hit you as if you just materialized in front of them.

People are generally selfish c*ts.

People who listen to loud music on their phones on the bus or park in a residential street and leave the engine running just to have a phone convo on full volume through their car speakers

then drive off afterwards.

or go to a rehearsal room - book a room - play as loud as you can - rip off all the soundproofing from the walls and leave without paying.

I saw so many today.  That's where I was upset about people parking as well.

Sorry, I do not feel the need to escort my carriage to the nearest corral. I leave it behind my car and I make sure it does not roll.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related

You'd think because of what I do, I'd be against it, but fuck it. I'm not going to be shamed into walking my cart across the parking lot. I'm the customer, dammit.

I see so many scratches on our cars and we all know it's either a door or a carriage.   So in conclusion,  people suck.

This is why ALDI has the best system. Don't want to put your shopping cart back? Then you don't get your $0.25 back. I've never seen more than one shopping cart out in their lot, ever.

Their quarter system is cheaper for everyone. Put your cart back, get your quarter back. They also won't give you bags unless you pay for them.

Again, fuck them. If I'm going to shop there, bag my stuff. Everyone else provides bags.

Aldi protip: take some of the empty/near empty cardboard boxes from the shelves. They're just going throw them out anyway so they don't care, and now you've got something to transport your groceries in.

And the quarter system is fantastic. I've never seen a stray cart in an Aldi parking lot.

Instead of getting upset, I need to ask: what possesses you to do this? Why not just go put the cart away? Are you in that much of a hurry?

Only paying about 2 people at a time and not giving away things like bags (which are actually pretty damn expensive over time) can certainly allow you to scrape by with a lower margin on your goods.

And they have plenty of customers :lol They're one of the fastest growing retailers out there.

We have one near us that opened years ago and I was going to check it out until I heard about the bag thing. No interest.

Yeah, they made it over here some 5-10 years ago, I think. My grandfather (who is German) was thrilled, until he discovered that they didn't take checks (his preferred method of payment) and he never went there again.

We shop there pretty regularly, though. Prices are good, store is laid out nice and linearly, cashiers load the cart in record time without any bullshit. Good store.
