I bought 20 poly sleeves for like £3.

I keep the entire record - sleeve jacket and all in side them.

That should keep the dust out.

I have the spine of the record jacket facing the open side of the poly sleeve so the exposed paper sleeve is up against the poly sleeve spine.

Dad is making me a wooden box for about 50 records. That'll keep em nice and upright.

I got mine about 18 months ago, I took almost as long deliberating over which one to get.
Mine is a Rega RP6, made in England, with and external power supply, with an Ortofon orange cartridge.

Standard opening salvo is the AT LP60. A fine cheap table 'tis. Kills any Crosby (but you could do that by licking your finger and running it through the grooves!).

Great find at the record store yesterday. Somebody sold off their Mastodon collection:

$43 for all 3, Once More was still sealed and the other two looked like they had only been played once or twice. Sound great and the lyric sheets are all there.

The U-Turn Orbit is a pretty good entry level player. There's two models and the lower priced one is around that price range IIRC, but you can upgrade the parts over time if you want.

You're going to need more than a turntable though. You'll want speakers and (depending on the turntable) a receiver.

It's actually not rare and I would avoid built in speakers like the plague. You're thinking of "all in one" stuff by companies like Crosley. Those sound bad and they are bad for your records.

Also, it is not a good idea to put the speakers on the same surface as your turntable.

Does that include the pre-amp option for the turntable you recommended? (Speaking of which, that turntable seems pretty good, but it doesn't ship to Australia so $:\$ )

I do probably have a few speakers lying around though. I'd just have to find them.

More excessive than the 12 CD version of Spiritualised "Ladies & Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space ".

Each CD was like a pill and was in a huge tin foil wrapper resembling a box of medicine and you "pop out" each cd form the foil.

The Box resembled a normal prescription medicine box.

I love Vinyl and Deluxe Box shit nobody needs, but seriously, this is too much. Who's gonna listen to all the 7" vinyls? You can't even listen to the ALBUM as one big piece of work. Instead you have to stand up after every song, unless you have a jukebox.

I just got The American IV by Cash, I love it! I was never into Cash that much really, but that album is just great. Just a guitar and the old wise man singing.

Not 7"s, 12"s. That's right, a 12" with one song on each side.

I'm pretty sure there are four variations of the main album as well. They also did a repress of Demon Days for Vinyl Me Please (a subscription service so you have to sign up to get the album). They're really milking this comeback for all its worth.

ReaperKK, I hope you can find copies of the dredg catalog. From memory, they've become pretty scarce. Catch Without Arms was only pressed a couple of years ago. But Leitmotif, El Cielo and Pariah may require some digging and patience to find (but are well worth getting if you desire).

I already have El Cielo but the thing that really gets me is when I moved to Charlotte I left my Pariah vinyl at my parents (where I was storing some other stuff from college) and it's gone missing. I don't want to spend the money it costs to get it on ebay, I'm just pissed at myself for losing it.
