Maybe not really "funny", more of a WTF, but then I saw the Mercedes logo on the pavement and chuckled.  I guess that means it's funny.

I don't normally wish ill on people, but for some reason, I'm okay with bad things happening to people with really expensive cars, especially if it's obvious that no one was hurt.

Sure looks that way, and the driver of the really expensive car of Orbert's disdain walked way from it. I prefer fast cars, so I'm not a Mercedes guy, but they really are built tough as shit. A business acquaintance had a head-on collision with at total speed around 155 or so and came out of it with some bruises and a concussion thanks to his Mercedes. Nobody in the other car survived. That really caught my attention.

How do you crash into a big slow tractor in what looks like an open area?

Not to be judgmental, but the ONLY way I see that happening is if the Mercedes driver was flying along pretty fast, and likely also not paying attention (texting, rocking out to Behemian Rhapsody, or whatever).  Obviously, I wasn't there.  But that's my first guess just from seeing the picture and trying to piece together likely scenarios that could have caused it.

Look how narrow the road is. No matter what they're going to be passing very close to each other. Frankly, the tractor should have given way. Moreover, I might be mistaken but it seems that the sun is low on the horizon and facing the farmer. Possible he was having a hard time seeing what was going on.

https://www.tagesanzeiger.ch/zuerich/region/Das-Wunder-von-Leipzig/story/11787194
apparently this accident happened in Germany ~ 7 years ago.  With help from google translate:  Seems that the Mercedes driver saw a "cloud" approaching and stopped, and then was soon run over by the tractor.  The driver of the car and passenger were unharmed, but the farmer on the tractor was admitted to the hospital.

The google translation of the story at the link above is somewhat funny (below):

The miracle of Leipzig

Near Leipzig, a 6-ton tractor was rolled over and none of the inmates were injured.

The "Leipziger Volkszeitung" writes of a horror incident - and a miracle that all inmates have survived him. "The miracle of Mutzschen" is the title of the story. And the picture shows a car, in the cooler hood of which the profile of a tractor tire has eaten.

And that is how it should have happened: Ralf Becker went with his life partner to a birthday celebration to Köllmichen in Leipzig. In the fields to the left and right, the farmers were busy harvesting. When he suddenly saw a "right cloud" approaching him, he had stopped his car. "First it was yellow, suddenly everything turned black. And then the glass flaps! "The man in the Mercedes is quoted.

Blame on the black and the glass shards is a 6-ton heavy tractor of the brand John Deere. And he was catapulted like a ski jumper by the limousine with the star in the sky. Whether it is a miracle or South German engineering: the man at the wheel of the car is uninjured, as is his passenger. The only one who was admitted to the hospital was the farmer on the tractor

So that's funny, except the tractor driver was hospitalized while the morons in the Mercedes were unharmed, which isn't cool.  Let's call it a draw.

Let me get this straight. The Mercedes drivers are morons (granted, they allegedly stopped to look at a cloud lol), but the tractor driver who managed to FLIP a fucking huge John Deere tractor by running over a parked car is not a moron, and also deserves sympathy? Not so sure this is a draw...

I gather that the cloud they saw was actually the dust and dirt kicked up by the oncoming tractor. The "cloud" they saw was approaching, so they stopped. However, your confusion at his indignation is remains valid.

Okay, maybe I am reading this wrong.

I interpreted it as: They thought they saw a "cloud" but it was actually a tractor, so they stopped, in the middle of the road.  Next thing they know, it ran over them and was in fact a tractor.  That just sounds really stupid to me.  Tractors don't go that fast, so how do you not see the "cloud" until it's literally on top of you?

It didn't occur to me that the "cloud" was the dust being kicked up.  If that's the case, then the farmer should be more careful and know when he's ventured out onto the road (which he can't if he's in a cloud of dust) and thus is at fault.

I'm going to imagine the farmer's injury is similar to the below, making the whole think seem funny again:

I think there's a display behind that and that has the sign.

Well now that's what I thought, but behind the guns are more guns, and behind those guns are boxes of rifle ammunition. That sign is right in the middle of the guns and ammo section. Not even fishing or camping stuff.
