I was pretty sure I was going to make it to the EP round   I did already made a mock up for an EP so if you ever have time and want to listen to that, I'll send it  It does contain mostly songs I've send in other roulettes before, but I think there might be some songs in there you'll like. (I should have sent one of the songs on the mock-up EP instead of taking a gamble and sending spiritualized)

Glad you liked Myrath, I only have that one album by them but it is great.

I have no idea what to put on this EP at all...

What is a good program to use to add cross fades etc and make the EP into one file guys?

EP rules:

• EP have to be between 25 and 40 minutes long (I could allow a few seconds over 40 minutes)
• Minimum 3 different artists; I think this is reasonable, I don't want to get one band EP
• EP round is worth 30 points total: 5 for flow and 25 for the songs
• Every song is scored out of 10 as usual, average score is scaled up to 25 points
• I don't care if transitions aren't smooth, flow points are more about how good those songs sound next to each other
• The most important thing: make it good

You don't have to hurry. I yet have to send the bonus from last round for SN2 and I'm busy these days anyway.

BTW you can use Audacity for that if you want but as I said, I won't deduct flow points if transitions aren't smooth.

My EP has been sitting here waiting to be sent for a while but I'm going to let it rest and see if I can improve it a bit over the next few days.

With The Reign of Kindo I suggest checking out "Rhythm, Chord & Melody", way better album than the one this song is of as far as I'm concerned. It's a bit moodier but definitely more consistent, and I think you like moody more anyway.

EDIT: Oh yeah so Tomi, right now, would your favourite song of the roulette be Silent Cries or Just a Ride? Or some other song that has grown on you for whatever reason?

It's impossible to pick just one. Few of my close favorites are Sectarian, Just a Ride, Death Dream, Orphan Anthem and Silent Cries. Yes, two of those got only 8.5

I'm still in shock that I'm through to an EP round    and that I got a 9/10 for Myrath.

Tomi, is the 'banned during the roulette' list up to date? I'm going to start by making a list of all the bands I would even consider using on this EP and work from there.

GWAR is my favorite out of the bands you sent, Parama

When you said you sent some black-ish metal, I was like: oh, no. Not because I think black metal sucks or anything but because of the fact there are many similar sounding bands and I don't think I need another black metal band. But I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised. As you said, this isn't really typical song for the genre and it's not weird at all. There are some melodic black metal bands like Dissection which are kinda similar to this yet more black than this. My favorite thing about this song are the growls. Really really perfect growls, brutal yet at the same time pretty clear and comprehensive. Not my favorite thing is that the tempo is the same during the whole song and I feel some changes would make it better. This is definitely something I want to check out but I'll need to be in certain blackish mood.

I could've gone for a more atmo-black option from that album but decided not to, it's varied but never loses the plot. Marrok has brilliant vocals indeed, and he actually recorded almost all instruments by himself on Refugium.

okay i went back and listened to my home EP again and no it's definitely better than this one but this is still a strong #2

how the hell did i make such a great EP for home. jesus christ. if i had something to replace the dissona track with it'd probably average at like 9.5/10 imo. this one's only like a 9 or 9.25 average which is still really good, but
