I have no idea why people hate ADTOE's mix. That and Octavarium are my two favourite productions for a DT album.

The drums are too low in the mix.
The drums are dry and completely raw.
The kick drum is a wimpy clicky noise.
The snare drum is also weak with no depth.
The guitars are muddy and overwhelm the mix with bass.
It sounds like a premix recording to me, like they just recorded it and that was it. I wouldn't even qualify it as production. :P
But at least that also extended to mastering, so it doesn't sound over-compressed. I guess that's something. They must have been saving it up for DT12. :biggrin:

Yep. I think the only party in the MP/DT situation that hasn't moved on is DTF.

I'm sticking with Kevin Shirley.

I'd love to have him back again. Besides FII, what he did on Metropolis 2 was great as well.

Also, the way James' vocals were recorded. Idk if it bothers other people, but they bother me.
