Your car, if money was no object
« on: November 30, 2016, 09:55:39 AM »
Seriously, put some thought into it: you have the budget and finances to comfortably buy and afford ANY CAR you want (excluding building your own, work with what's out there)...pick one that you would choose to own and actually drive. Would you pick an outrageous exotic or one of the new hybrid electric hypercars? Or something more stately and "practical" like a mega saloon? Something in between? Or would you stick with whatever car you have no because it's of no interest to you?

I'm curious what you all would pick, what your tastes are, and what you'd prefer to drive every day.

P100D if I could only choose one vehicle. If money was no object, I would need three vehicles to satisfy my lifestyle.

Tesla P100D

John Cooper Works Mini Roadster

Ford Raptor

I'd have whatever for my main ride, don't care.

But if money was no object, you better believe I'm getting a Delorean as my second car. And you better believe it's getting the full BTTF conversion. Impractical as hell, and I'd love every single second of it.

I'm talking about the car you go out to every day to drive. Forget "will I scuff it, I need a weekend car" – what would be your go to car.

Mine would either be a Mercedes S65 AMG sedan or an Audi S8, depending on the packages and powertrains available.

YOU DON'T GET TO MAKE THE RULES IF MONEY'S NO OBJECT TO ME! :getoffmylawn:

I'll buy another one as my every day ride.

2017 Subaru STI

Unassuming at a glance, but hidden with-in this sedan is a beast. Air Turbo charged, All wheel drive and a champion in the snow. I love this car and will buy one at some point in my life.

Now something that I always wanted, but probably wouldn't actually buy would be a 68 camaro.

I have never been a car guy, so please forgive.  But probably some sort of pickup truck.  I really nice one with extended cab that is fairly luxurious inside, but would still be practical for hauling just about anything, including all our stuff when we go on family trips.  FWD for snow.  Tow package.  All the bells & whistles.

I've just always had a thing for luxury sedans. All the bells and whistles and kickass comfort accessories with premium materials and exceptional build quality and comfort...with an engine that could blast the brickwork off a building. Bentleys always came to mind but those things weigh as uch as a house and a Rolls is more of a chauffeur car. Astons are amazing, but I'm a family man and would want 4 doors. Besides, 240k for an S65 is pretty oppulent.

If money was no object, I would get a bumper sticker for my current car that says "My other ride is your mom" so that my stepson could see it every day.

Not much of a car guy either.  I would probably get a sedan, but a decently nice one.  I dunno.  Maybe a Lincoln MKZ - that panoramic glass roof is pretty tight.

Definitely not a car guy here. Would buy one that would completely drive itself so I could sleep the whole time.

I'm amazed you don't have it! :lol

BTW, I put a bumper sticker on my buds car as a teen that said, "Bigger Than John Holmes".

He couldn't figure out for 2 weeks why people were beeping the him and giving him the thumbs up.  He finally saw it, knew instantly it was me and was happy as all hell.

The next day someone took a razor blade and stole it off his car. :lol

I have 0 actual experience with either of these answers, but I've always been fascinated with Corvette's and would love to have one as a commuter car. Then I'd want something bigger or practical, and since money is no object I'd get on board with the Tesla SUV.

BMW i8   It's their luxury electric car, about $140k.  Either that, or a M6.  And (and I'm stealing this lock stock and barrel from our own el Barto), I'm going to Munich to watch them build it.

Wouldn't be my choice, but I'd certainly go and specify every detail of my eventual 330. I'd want a non-M 3-series, but with a whole lot of the M stuff built onto it.

Other option would be having an E30 like my old one completely restored. Funnest car in the world.

For as long as I've been interested in cars, the Corvette Stingray has been my favorite. When it was announced that Chevrolet was bringing it back, I was stoked and when I saw the modern version of it for the first time, it was almost line I fell in love. I would of course have to get it in candy apple red and it would have to be a convertible.

M4, same with the Munch trip.  Been to the museum there, but didn't actually see the factory.

Probably an Audi S8 if I just had one car to live with.

However if I was allowed two, I'd have Kornigsegg One

I'm not a car guy either, so I'd probably get the best Honda there is (whatever it is).  I've had a Honda since 2002 (Accord and now a Civic), and they have been good to me.
