I don't know the dates, but...

Luke Bryan/Brett Eldridge in May
Maiden in June/July

Not much after that, but I'm jonesing for a good show, small place, up close.

Is there a spot here on the forum about tickets?    Looking for two GA tix for Maiden in either Brooklyn or Mansfield, MA without paying StubHub prices....

This is what I have so far for 2017:

2/7-11 Cruise to the Edge (epic/amazing experience)
2/26 Pain of Salvation- Webster Hall NYC
5/11 Mastodon- Hammerstein Ballroom NYC
5/19 Metallica- Gillette Stadium, MA
6/7 Iron Maiden- Prudential Center, NJ
7/21 Iron Maiden- Barclay's Center, NYC (still undecided)

Plus will go to at least one, if not multiple shows whenever DT and Haken announce North America tour dates.

Has Haken stated they will tour the US this year?  I'd go see them again.

Yup, from what they said on the boat during CTTE they'll be touring the US leading into ProgPower in early September again.

Nice! This summer is lining up really well so far for me.  Also looks like 311 is doing another US tour like last summer.  Might have to catch them a few times again.

Ok, so a little update. I've just had a trawl through upcoming dates and this is what I have so far (the ones in bold are definite):

02/03/17 - Bonobo
11/03/17 - Gojira
12/03/17 - Devin Townsend, Tesseract, Leprous
25/03/17 - Haken
30/03/17 - Slowdive (worth checking out?)
01/04/17 - Ghost
08/04/17 - Pallbearer
22/04/17 - Dream Theater (never actually even seen them live)
27/04/17 - The King Blues
03/05/17 - Inter Arma
20/05/17 - Riverside
03/07/17 - Blink 182/Frank Turner

The ones in green are basically ones I am definitely going to go to as long as I have the money. The rest are maybes as I'm not familiar with that much of their music but should be a cool show. Thoughts?

Friday night was easily the best show of the year so far and one of the better ones to compete with the great ones from last year for me.  Not just in performance, but also in terms of the odd things that happen during a concert.  To start, it's a coheadlining tour so I found out in this show, Less Than Jake was playing first, so I made sure to get there on time.  I managed to get really close, in fact I got right up to the barrier about half way through their set.  This is when things got interesting.  There were three girls at the barrier and two with guys, I was standing next to the lonely girl.  Well being pushed into her really due to the crowd.  Her friend looks at me and offers me acid.  :omg: I was so confused when she handed it to me.  I never seen it before and at first I thought she was handing me rolling papers (the whole place reeked for weed as soon as you walked in), but then realized what it was and gave it back.  Not for me, and I was just so shocked about the whole thing.  Her guy friends then tried to push me away which I didn't do.  I wanted to stay up front.  So one of the guys were pushing really hard at me to go away.  I was getting so annoyed so at one point at a jumping part of the song, I just gave that guy a good push.  A pretty good one actually that he almost fell over and he didnt see me do it, but I know he knew what happened and he turned around to push me back or something, I was about to finally leave my spot knowing I just started some shit, but got saved by the really drunk person who then pushed his way through the both of us and needed to get over the barrier to get out and to safety.  Luckily this person pushed through and also gave me my cover for why that guy got pushed.  I was no longer targeted.  In fact, I pushed a few of the crowd surfers away from the three girls and it all of the sudden seemed like that group respected me a bit more.  At the end of the set, Less Than Jake threw the setlist near me, the same girl who offered me the acid and I both grabbed the setlist but I let go, wasn't going to fight for it nor did I want to rip it.  She turned around though and asks "I'll give this to you if you can prove you are a true less than jake fan" for which I say the first concert I ever went to in 1998 was for Less Than Jake.  She gave me the setlist.  Turns out they weren't fans at all, they wanted to see Pepper.  I said thanks and moved to the back of the venue to watch Pepper.  I was not familiar with them, but they sound similar to Sublime and put on a fun show.

Less Than Jake - Bomb Drop

Pepper - Ho's with Less Than Jake

and also during LTJ's set, a guy in the front next to me between songs yelled at the singer "My girlfriend left me after a less than jake concert" which got the singer's attention.  They brought him on stage and requested for a girl to come up and dance with him, a very attractive girl comes up and they dance on stage during a song.  LTJ is about the shoo them off the stage after the song and the girl says her parents are there.... LTJ then invite her Mom and Dad onto stage where they meet the dude too and all four of them dance on stage for the next song.   :metal :metal

uh oops, I booked my work trip to fly home the same time as the Amaranthe concert on the 10th.    this is not the first time I've done this.  Well I have a ticket to see if anyone wants to see Amaranthe in NJ (or to just give away, I don't think the tickets are worth much).  Considering driving out to Reading PA the next night to see them on the last date of the US tour and honestly wonder if they'll ever return.

2/7-11 Cruise to the Edge (epic/amazing experience)
2/26 Pain of Salvation- Webster Hall NYC (great set, though the set felt a little on the short side)

7/22 Iron Maiden- Barclay's Center, NYC (still undecided)

Plus will go to at least one, if not multiple shows whenever DT and Haken announce North America tour dates.

Updated after PoS. Also decided to cut out one of the Maiden shows, don't like the new album enough to go to multiple dates. The extra show added in Brooklyn does work out well though.

It's not on their official site yet but it should be soon, I think. There's Croatian site I often check, they announce everything as soon as they get the information from organizers (and ticket sale starts tomorrow).

Red Hot Chili Peppers are playing the next two nights in LA (and Friday too, but I'll be flying home).  I'm strongly considering going.  All sold out and pretty expensive, but actually cheaper than the three sold out shows at MSG in NYC when I was home a few weeks ago and considering the same.  My work is only 20 minutes from Staples Center so I think I'll just wait till close to the start time to see if resale ticket prices drop.  I haven't really listened to them in awhile, but I really like a few of their albums and have seen them once before in 2003.

and just added from this morning's news:

August 4th - Rancid and Dropkick Murphys with Bouncing Souls @ Stone Pony Summer Stage, Asbury Park NJ

Going to be hounding stubhub to see if the price drops for RHCP tonight.  I find it interesting because one guy looks to have a full 20 seat box of tickets dead center to sell (20 tickets, which I am guessing is a full box).  His price per ticket was 199 and now its 188.  None sold.  Hoping that drops a lot because those look to be the best seats for the price available.  The cheapest now is 125 for a corner top rafter seat.

I ended up snagging a good priced ticket yesterday and had a blast at the Red Hot Chili Peppers concert.  The place was sold out and everyone looked like they were having a good time.  The band was great, I mean Flea is ridiculous and he really took over the show, not just with his playing but talking to the crowd between songs being they are from LA.  They rotate a bunch of songs so I knew about half of what they would play and they ended up playing two songs I really like, Tell Me Baby and my favorite Parallel Universe.  The way they used the video editing live was really cool for the back screen.  I can't help but see Will Ferrel every time they showed the drummer.  Also they had these hanging lights that would come down and move with the music and light up.  It was really cool.  If I weren't so exhausted, I'd consider the idea of going back tonight  :lol

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Parallel Universe Live Staples Center

Also it seemed between almost every song they would just go into a jam and then come out with the next song.   :metal
