Continuing discussion in the 2017 thread because it's related to a 2017 concert
How expensive is it?
It's about 65 euro's.

So my list so far includes Gojira and the Devin Townsend / Between the Buried and Me / Leprous shows, hyped. :metal thanks for the new thread SwedishGoose

Not really a fan of any of the bands but two friends were going so I figured, why not...

Listened once so far to the new A7X and like What I hear.

Wow, that's a lot :o when I saw them 3 years ago tickets were half that price. And I got them for half price because there was discount for entering European Union :lol no one will ever again see DT for only ~ 16 euros ever again :P
I'm planning to see Devin Townsend / Between the Buried and Me / Leprous but it's on Sunday before final tests, I hope there won't be anything on Monday.
I'm thinking about going to see Gregorian  I bet it would be so cool, also, they're playing in big sport arena.
And I knew exactly what to do. But in a much more real sense, I had no idea what to do. - Michael Scott

Came around to seeing Alcest and MONO live yesterday, I'm floored.

Unfortunately I missed half of the supporting act, pg.lost, which is a great post rock band in the vein of God Is An Astronaut. Unfortunately they had like 25 minutes of playing time anyway but what I've heard was really solid. To my surprise Alcest actually played second. The songs off the new album they played came out perfectly live, those (Kodama and Oiseaux de Proie) along with Percees de Lumiere were the definite standouts. Now MONO I was kinda skeptical about, I've heard some stuff before and do dig me some Hymn to the Immortal Wind at times, but never really got into them that much. In concert they're absolutely perfect, their sound becomes much more intense and the payoffs are so much better in a live setting. Listening back to some MONO right now and they're starting to really click with me. I think this is the first time that I primarily came to see a certain band (Alcest) and another band actually ended up being my favorite act of the evening, good job MONO, you've gained a fan yesterday :metal

Nice. I remember years back seeing Slayer on one of their Unholy Alliance tours. They were supported by Children of Bodom, In Flames and Lamb of God (hell of a line up!!!) At the time I was already a massive fan of In Flames and CoB but had only heard one of two songs by LoG.

That night LoG completely blew all the other bands away, which was pretty amazing since the other three bands were (at the time) some of my favourite bands of all time.

31 Jan - Tift Merritt
2 Feb - Black Sabbath
3 Mar - Drive By Truckers
28-30 April - Marillion
4 May - Iron Maiden
29 Sept - Big Big Train

Hoping to add DT to the list soon, and there's a few other artists rumoured to be touring in '17 (Roger Waters?), so should be a good one.

Only 1 so far: Roger Waters (June)

But if they tour stateside, I'll be seeing Helloween's Pumpkins United tour for sure. And if Maiden makes its way around, that too. Probably going to see Living Colour too, if they finally release Shade, which they've been working on for the last four years...

2. Metallica

Haven't bought tickets yet, but Thank You Scientists are doing a show in Oakland in January. They were so good opening for Haken I can't see missing them. Also keeping an eye out for Evergrey/Need to hit the Bay Area.

April 2017:
Periphery
Brit Floyd (wish I could afford Roger Waters again)

June 2017:
Tom Petty

All subject to change as Fate's Warning typically kicks off in Hartford, CT and I'll quickly abandon any of these for that show, if/when announced

I kind of stopped going to concerts a while ago, mixture of bands I like not really coming here and me not being too excited to see anyone.

But when Metallica announces their eventual US tour, I think I might just go to that.
